Well I was all set for MGS4. Got my PS3 set up lovely to my HDTV. I was watching a film the other day and "Game Over", it switches itself off and now the Stand-By light just flashes and it simply wont turn on. Why now? :'( Hope I can find my reciept. But still. |

Haha, its always turned off at the plug when im not using it. Its like a replay of my 360. Didnt play it for 3 days, turned it on, RROD, for no reason. |

Do you have the vents covered up? If so, don't it's a bad idea with any console or media equipment. I'd say what has happened is a freak occurrence, I've never heard of anything like it for sure, so I'm sure if you have the receipt and if you ask nicely the place that sold it to you will give a replacement without having to go through the hassle of contacting Sony. |

My TV is taking ages to get sorted. Ive had the idea of taking my PS3 downstairs to the bigger TV, then driving down to Blockbuster to buy MGS4 and play it all night, because everyone is out. What ya think?

Okay this may seem obvious, but have you checked the scarts/cable at the back? One morning my monitor just flicked off, the cable had come lose even though it NEVER moves.. But...If I were you....I would dig that receipt up! |

Sorry, between the answers giving at first and what you said later I'm confused on what the problem was. Was it the T.V or the ps3? Sounds like the T.V but your reference to xbox through me off. Either way there are some things you can do to extend your ps3's shelf life. Not coldbooting it helps, always keep it on standbye, its like a computer, if you play at once every other day then its best to keep it on standby then to have to turn it on and off every time you go to use it. CPU's get worn out that way. By that picture it looks like you got it playing right...I hope. If so then greats

maybe it was something you downloaded such as that wallpaper, it sometimes can carry virus' or just cause it malfunction idk what it is nice house by the way
