I've barely slept for four days.; Not because of MGS4.

For the past four days I've only gotten maybe three hours a day and I feel like I'm losing it. I'm seeing little lights flash out of the corners of my eyes and hearing people talk and call my name when they really aren't. While sleeping as little as possible is a rush I don't rememeber why I started it.

Right now it feels like it's 10:00 AM but it's 10:30 PM. I should really go to sleep tonight.

How long have some of you gone without a proper amount of sleep?

Oh, speaking of pedos... HELLO, PUPPY.

(He prefers little girls to little boys; but he'll generally take anything on four two legs)

2 and a half days with no sleep at all.

I remember having the same as you, but it stopped and I actually slept, heh. And I'm still sleeping late everyday, but it's called Nocturnal eh.

7 days, that's just crazy, haha.

Yup.
12 hours in 4 days isn't half bad. Seems like a regular finals sleep schedule to me. :)

And I don't think I've gone that long without sleep. Maybe a little more than 30 hours or something.

Hmm, well I haven't slept since MGS 4 came out, which is two-ish days ago. In those four days you've gotten more sleep than I have in two and I seem to functioning properly, so I wouldn't sweat it.

Back when I was in high school - 10th grade - I'd only ever get around three to four hours of sleep a night, and this is something which carried on for around half a year, if I can remember correctly (could have been longer, I don't know).

I'd get proper sleep on the weekends, though... but that didn't do a whole lot, to be honest.

About a month for me. But I got maybe 6 hours of sleep in that month. The drugs I was on were just kicking my ass!!

And I really doubt it would be a year without any sleep at all. You would literally go completely nuts. And your body would definitely shut down on you.

Raiden... Five years ago... That's not what I meant.
I'd say about half a year to 7 months or little or no sleep. Usually I'd patter around killing time till like 2-4 am, sleep, and wake at 5-7, then go to school. I walk around like a zombie, always had these huge black bags under my eyes. This used to be a real problem for me, but thankfully, I've gotten over it.

Also, I love this forum. The fact that someone has to note that MGS isn't keeping them up all night is just... mmm.

Well medically the most anyone has ever gone without any sleep at all is 11 days. Thats an actual fact too, I believe.

So all these people saying a year or whatever. I don't think so.

I never said I stayed up a year.. I just said I had a year of insomnia. Its practically a state where your neither asleep or awake... your body just kinda goes on auto play and your mind is kinda in limbo. You sleep sometimes.. but you sure as hell don't know it. The sun rises just as the moon does and you have another day of a zombie like life where everything feels the same.

Thats the best I can describe it.

Without sounding like an ass, I'm aware of insomnia having suffered from it myself. I clearly mis-interpreted your post though, so my apologies.

well I always give in by 4AM so yeah...not that great of an accomplishment, but sometimes i just wake up too early afterwards, but i still get decent sleep

i believe the record for loosing sleep was two or three weeks and the guy in question went delusional and was very short tempered, but every once in a while he would be acting completely normal. Luckily after he finally slept he WAS back to normal so loss of sleep doesn't have any long-term negative effects so long as you do sleep eventually

2 and a bit days, I kind of got confused about my surroundings by the end of it. I do not particulary enjoy being tired and aim to get at least 7 hours per night, I like my brain to work well.

When I did my 7 day no sleep stunt, the first thing you notice after the first 3 day hump is how much your body hurts. Your skin feels clammy, your organs hurt and feel weird, you develop muscle twitches, and there is a certain time of day in which your body is the most sluggish (around 4am-6am).

After the 3 day hump, it gets easier but you still get those weird muscle spasms that make you look like a psycho in class during your figure drawing sessions.

I started seeing strange things while I was driving. Stuff like evil spirits chasing your car and whatnot. You know, the usual.

On the 7th day, I drove to school unconscious. This prompted me to start sleeping again.

Got any secrets for that? maybe i should try a week with no sleep, or at least try too. As for the longest i've gone? i would say 2 days.

Really no other tips other than sheer dedication.

I did my 7 day stunt without any coffee or energy drinks at all.

Its also useful to learn out to let your mind out on a vacation during the sluggish hours.

For me, during those hours I would just stare at a wall and let my mind sort of just wander and trip out.

Kind of hard to describe. Your awake, but your mind is almost separate from you. You got your basic motor skills, but there's no one at the wheel so to speak. Your like a zombie.
