I'm just curious if anyone on here lifts weights and if they do, what their workout is? I've been lifting on and off lately, because I have had some bad injuries in the past 6 months that have slowed me down and I'm not lifting weights as much as I'd like to. |

I do quite a bit of lifting but havent done much in recent weeks but gonna start again during the summer. I do my workouts like a rountine.By that I mean I would do a workout using dumbells on a Monday then when Tuesday came I would use the Barbell and then on the 3rd day I do any random workouts moves I could think of with the heaviest weight possible. That way my body will almost never gain (much) unnessessary weight and I'll almost always have a high muscle mass with the Mon and Tues workout and my body will always be getting stronger and keeping it's leanness with the Wednesday's workout. |

i haven't done for ages but i use dumbells, thats all i have. I just lift those one at a time, both together, over my head, infront of me etc, and just change styles 'till i start to sweat, then break then go again. as long as you've broken sweat it's all good. I do situps and pressups on my fists and one handed as well inbetween. I don't have to do it often as i have a high metabolism and my body just stays the same whether i do it or not which is cool, until i hit my 30s then it'll be a different story I'm only slim but what i got is toned, just can't put any more weight on :-/

I do often lift weights, and I do ALOT of benchpress. Word of advice from me, NEVER OVER DO IT. My maximum benchpress ability is 100kg at about 5 repetitions depending on my condition. I was stupid enough to try 120kg when I wasn't ready, and payed the price. |

This morning I did upper body lifting. Did bench press starting at 10 reps with a light weight, increased weight and did 8 reps, increased and did 6, increase and then 4, and then decreased the weight and did 6 reps and so on. Military press, rows, one armed rows, ab workout, shoulder shrugs, declined bench and bicep curls followed.. Needless to say, I'm going to be very sore tomorrow, but I'm glad I'm getting back into it. Tomorrow will be lower body day. |

Well, I've gone back and forth the past couple days and alternated between upper body and lower body. My lower body workout has consisted of deadlift, regular squats, good mornings (lower back), front squats, step ups, lunges and sometimes calf raises (not nearly as important). It feels great to be back into weights again because I need the strength for a tournament I've got next month in BJJ. Does anyone here take supplements? |

Well personally I dont take supplement's but I do diet on the basic essentials i.e bread, pasta, meat, eggs etc. and those pretty much do the job for me. |

I recently started taking Whey Protein, and it seems to be helping. Just getting an extra bit of protein, even though I do eat plenty everyday. I'm very happy to say I'm making big gains in the amount I can lift in the past few weeks and it's helping my performance in BJJ. Now I just need to work on getting my cardio back where it used to be which unfortunately means more running.

I just have some 5kg dumbells, I don't really want to have massive arms, I just do a LOT or reps with them every once in a while to keep what I have working effectively, I don't care for bulk, I just want a little tone and to have effective working muscles. |

Doing lower weight and higher reps is better in a lot of cases for practicality in sports. And like you said, it keeps your arms toned and not gigantic. |
