MGS Theme; Not enough of it?

As I played through MGS4 I kept anticipating that infamous MGS theme to pop up, particularly that really cool one circulating around the net called "MGS4 opening". I did not hear such a theme until the ending credits however, and even there it almost seemed like a brief version. Additionally, the game didn't seem very musical in general unlike MGS3 which was a musical masterpiece as well as a game. I know there were parts in MGS4 where I appreciated not having music because of the type of environment. I also figured they wanted to make the iPod a large part of the game's music, giving you a choice of what to listen to. It would have been nice though to have some more epic tracks, as that's what I think part of what people look forward to. Perhaps I was just so involved in the game I didn`t really listen to the music?

I think my favorite part musically however was Shadow Moses, that was just perfect the way it was.

The MGS theme song was intergrated into a song in MGS4 called 'MGS Saga' which was played:

.

While you could argue that song is MGS' theme song, I'm glad they didn't have a direct replica of the song. With experience comes excellence and the composers for MGS4 have much more experience now from when the song was first drafted so they now have the ability to make a better song, which they did. The MGS4 soundtrack is easily the best soundtrack (ability wise, even if fans prefer the soundtrack to another MGS) of them all.

Next time I play through I'll listen more carefully to the music and see what I hear. Perhaps I'll make up a track list.

Agreed, but I think by now Konami should have made the song available for download on the extras menu.
So far we've been bombarded with rubbish iPod tracks such as 'Policenauts Medley' and B-Sides that didn't even make it onto MGS4.

I can see why some people may like tracks like 'Policenauts Medley', but I for one do not care in anyway for the Policenauts game/s.

You'd think that they'd give us the song you mention in the spoiler as the FIRST down loadable song, what with it being a fan favourite and classic MGS Theme. <_<

I actually kind of agree. To this day, I hate every one of the songs besides "Takin' on the Shagohod" and "The Best is Yet to Come", out of the like, 20 songs I have, those are the only good ones, in my opinion, they should throw in all of the tracks to download, especially MGS1 and MGS3.
