The scar on Eva's body; When you meet her at the mountaintops...

When you meet her at the mountaintops, Snake comments on the scar she got when she ''defected''. Take a look here at 02:57

Where do you think she got it from?In a battle against someone? She states that she got it when she defected to the Soviet Union, two years before Operation Snake Eater...But she's obviously lying, which Snake realizes, since she was working as codebreaker, which is a desk-job...

''Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down past each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself: So far so good... so far so good... so far so good.
How you fall doesn't matter.
It's how you land!''

The game never explains or elaborates on the scar beyond the mountaintop scene, so there's probably no way to be sure. Maybe it's explained in mgs4 or something, but i don't know, i haven't played it.

Light Saber trumps anything

Its really just a secret she is hiding and at the end of the game you find out what she is really up to. Just another mystery thrown in to make her character what it is.

Yeah I always wondered about the scar...I recently replayed MGS3 when I heard one of the ol' EVA/Naked Snake convo! Ah well, and solo_sneaker there is no mention of it in MGS4 I'm afraid! :D

You cannot change your fate. No man can.

In the last stages, just befor the fight with The Boss, you can try looking through her history of injuries and see if anything fits it.
I've done so numerous times, but I didn't notice a likely culprit.

An omen to come perhaps?

No it isnt a scar from the tree branch as she tells you about the scar before the crash happens.

I could be wrong here (as I'm no doctor), but maybe it's just a bad close-up after she had her appendix or something removed.

Got to admit, though, it is a sexy little wound.

It can't be from a appendix removal, since the appendix is on the other side....Bullet wound, perhaps?

No, couldn't be a bullet wound. The round would have hit her, torn through her side making a huge open gash, and blew out the opposite end.
What would be the chances of surviving something that horrific, especially at the time that it was most likely inflicted (mid to late '50s, at least)?

That's what I was suspecting, since it says in her medical history, at the bottom, that she has a stab wound...Could it be that she got stabbed by someone?

I know what you're thinking, but the very first wound in her medical history was a stab wound, you can check it for yourself, if you know what I mean...

Don't understand what "An omen to come" means then do ya?

It means it was a prediction. Could it be that that was the same place where she was punctured by the tree branch.

Nah, I don't think it has any story behind it, it is simply a scar to raises Snake's and the player's suspicions, as Snake says, 'How do you get a scar like that working behind a desk' or something like that. It's just there to enhance the suspicion and mystery around EVA.
