UFC 86: Jackson vs. Griffin Quinton Jackson © vs. Forrest Griffin (UFC Light Heavyweight Championship) Ricardo Almeida vs. Patrick Cote Joe Stevenson vs. Gleison Tibau Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle Marcus Aurelio vs. Tyson Griffin Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Justin McCully Jorge Gurgel vs. Cole Miller Melvin Guillard vs. Dennis Siver Justin Bucholz vs. Corey Hill UFC Fight Night 14 Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin Brandon Vera vs. Reese Andy Frankie Edgar vs. Hermes Franca Jake O'Brien vs. Cain Velasquez Kevin Burns vs. Anthony Johnson Brodie Farber vs. Rory Markham Brad Blackburn vs. James Giboo Nate Loughran vs. Johnny Rees Shannon Gugherty vs. Dale Hartt Affliction: Banned Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia Andrei Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Nascimento Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead Paul Buentello vs. Aleksander Emelianenko Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. TBA Vitor Belfort vs. Terry Martin Ray Lazama vs. Justin Levens J.J. Ambrose vs. Mike Pyle Mark Hominick vs. Savant Young ... Few great weeks of MMA we got coming up. I'm hyped for pretty much the entire 'Page/Griffin card as well as the Affliction card. Other than the Silva/Vera/Edgar fights I must say they put together a pretty shit card just to have an event the same night as Affliction's. Still, I'm looking forward to it. Silva at 205 pounds should be insane. |

I predict a first round submission either by RNC or armbar (most likely armbar) by Fedor. He hasn't fought any great competition in a while so it could be interesting, but I see Fedor wanting to make a statement. I say he puts on a more impressive performance than Randy did, and then he fights Randy in 4 months and beats him as well ![]() Also, I'm currently predicting 'Page to win, but I'm really having serious doubts at this point. Forrest is very underrated, and since joining the UFC 'Page has become a little overrated. I'm picking 'Page for now, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Forrest be the new champion. Honestly, it doesn't matter who wins it... Lyoto Machida will destroy them in their next fight so long as the UFC lets him. Edit: A few last minute changes... Jackson def. Griffin via unanimous decision Almeida def. Cote via R2 submission Stevenson def. Tibau via unanimous decision Koscheck def. Lytle via unanimous decision Griffin def. Aurelio via unanimous decision Gonzaga def. McCully via R1 submission Gurgel def. Miller via unanimous decision Guillard def Siver via R2 (T)KO Hill def. Bucholz via R2 (T)KO Edited by Webbie, Jul 5 2008, 06:04 PM.

Yeah... I shouldn't have changed my predictions so many times ![]() I think Almeida deserved the nod in his fight with Cote. Joe Daddy looked impressive. Guillard and Miller did as well. |

I am sooo happy that Forrest won. He's such a class guy (so is Rampage) and really likeable. In honor of his win I'll post my favorite gif.

My prediction: Lyoto Machida dominates Griffin or whoever else the UFC puts in front of him next until he earns his shot at Griffin. Machida then goes on to become the most dominant LHW in the history of the UFC (Anderson Silva-like). I could even see Silva fighting Machida at 205 pounds, and to be completely honest, Machida may be the only guy I'd predict to beat Silva. He's extremely underrated. We'll see how it goes, but that's been my prediction for a while now. |

I really don't like Machida and I'm praying that someone has what it takes to finally beat him, but I don't think that's going to happen in a long time. Fights to look forward to: Rampage vs Wanderlei Liddell vs Wanderlei Liddell vs Rampage Fights NOT to look forward to: Machida vs anyone Edited by Solid Snake8, Jul 6 2008, 07:39 PM.

I thought that it may have been a draw, but if I had to choose a winner I would have chosen Forrest to be the winner. He was the most active and was always looking for a way to hurt Rampage bad. Rampage was kind of looking for a one punch knockout and wasn't doing enough damage to win rounds decisively. If Forrest hadn't been dropped in the first round, I believe he would have won that round. He was winning up until he had been knocked down with great combinations put together with leg kicks. |

IMHO the second round could've easily been considered a 10-8 round for Forrest and therefore he wins quite cleanly, even though it was a real close fight for the majority of it. The first round was real close. Forrest dominated the second. Third and fourth were also close, but the fifth was all Forrest TBH. He earned it. I do still think Machida will reign supreme in the end, though ![]() *SMFH* @ Chuck Liddell getting a shot at Griffin for the belt if he beats Rashad. Are you fucking kidding me? After suffering two straight losses for the first time in his career he goes to decision with Wanderlei and then, if he beats Rashad (who should prove to be nothing for a guy like Chuck), he gets the next title shot? Dana White even said if Chuck would've beaten Jardine he would've earned a shot. Dana needs to hop off Chuck's nutsack for a little while. Also... I just read some absolutely terrible news about the Affliction: Banned event, and that is that Jay Glazer and Frank Trigg will be two of the broadcasters. I'm stoked to hear Big John, but Glazer and Trigg are fucking jokes. I can understand Trigg being in there since he's actually a veteran fighter, but get that Glazer douche bag out of there. He doesn't even know what he's talking about. Sorry, had to vent

I'm not familiar with Glazer.. What organization/events has he broadcasted for? I for one, really don't like Trigg's commentating for some reason. Maybe it's just because I dislike him as a person, but I don't think he does a great job and when he starts saying what a fighter should do when he's about to be RNC'd it makes me laugh. In my opinion, the ultimate 2 man broadcasting team would be Bas Rutten and Joe Rogan. |

i like Chuck Liddell i'd like to see him get another crack at the title but i'd prefer a rematch with him and Rampage. I can't wait for GSP's next fight, that guy is the best. |

@ Solid Snake8, I like Bas and Joe personally, but they're both like color commentators There's gotta be someone in there like Mauro Ranallo or Stephen Quadros or possibly (haven't heard him myself) Big John. But I don't see anything wrong with having Joe, Bas, and Big John. That'd be pretty good. Bas is greatness, BTW.But yeah, Trigg's commentary is ridiculous. He's biased, for one. He can't give advice for shit. He talks about certain things like he knows for sure what he's talking about but he doesn't. There's a lot of different things he does that irritates me. He's a blatant liar as well. Jay Glazer teamed up with Trigg for the PRIDE events they aired on FSN. He's a complete douche bag who knows nothing about the sport of MMA, and, like Trigg, he thinks he's a know it all. They should get all of these retarded bald bastards out of here (including that new ref Dan Murglio-who-ha, whatever it is. @ ScarSnake, I like watching Chuck fight (usually), but I hate how everybody, including the UFC president Dana White rides his jock. It's ridiculous. Even if he brutally KOs Rashad in the first round he doesn't deserve a shot at the belt yet IMHO. Machida earned a shot long ago. But, as I've said, it doesn't matter. His shot will have to come eventually. |

i understand what you're saying and i can't disagree. Liddell needs to work his way up the ladder again..go through Rampage to get to Forrest or something. Griffin and Forrest would be a good bout though. Dana White is a lil bitch. lol |

OHHHHH, it's that like 5'5" tall guy who teamed up with Trigg.. Okay, I thought they were both really annoying on FSN! Haha, I'm in total agreement that Jay Glazer has no clue what he's talking about and also that Trigg is one of the most biased commentators there is. I'd like a 3 man team with Joe Rogan, Bas Rutten and Big John if it were possible at one time or another. You've got Rogan for funny comments and great commentating when the fight goes to the ground. You have Bas for liver shots and standup and you have Big John for referee insight. Not to mention they're all funny as well. OH, and you have Joe for leg kick commentary. |

Ramapge won IMO. I had him winning 48-47 (3 rounds to 2). Sure Forrest had a great round 2, but the dude was knocked on his ASS in round 1, and was constantly wobbled in rounds 3 and 4. Round 5 was close, I guess I give to Forrest. Joe Rogan was SO bias the whole night towards Forrest Griffin. I remember him saying some shit like "Well Forrest did some good work in round 4, like the attempted triangle"...lol yeah, ATTEMPTED. Forrest got picked up and slammed by Rampage attempting that. Rampage came in looking soft and heavy on his feet though. Rampage will beat him in the rematch IMO. Edited by Executioner, Jul 9 2008, 06:34 PM.
