Dead Cell/The Sons of Liberty; Same group?

Who actually were the Sons of Liberty? They weren't mentioned much after Dead Cell came into the picture, so I'm a bit confused there, even still. Are Dead Cell and the Sons of Liberty the same group?

I think dead cell were operating under the Sons Of Liberty banner, but weren't the same group, since only three of Dead Cell's members were alive at the time, and Solidus was leading Sons Of Liberty, but wasn't part of Dead Cell, a bit like Animal Planet and The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet is part of The Discovery Channel, but also operates as a separate entity, probably a bad example but you get the picture.

I believe it goes something like this:

Sons of Liberty- The combination of Dead Cell and Olga's group.

Dead Cell- Fatman, Vamp, Fortune, and Solidus.

So the Sons of Liberty are the combination of the two unless i'm wrong but that's how i always thought it was.

That's the same idea I had, but it's so unclear that it's hard to say.

Here we go buddy...

Reading this it looks like Solidus put them together when he was president, then later joined them when they went rogue, which was three or four years after he stepped down from office. I couldn't find one on Sons Of Liberty, but it's probably safe to assume that they are the Gurlukovich army led by Dead Cell.

From what I remember. The Sons of Liberty were the combined groups of not only Dead Cell and Olga's terrorist group, but also a group of American mercenaries.

Yeah. That's the idea I got. Dead Cell was the terrorist group (Vamp, Fatman and Fortune), whereas The Sons of Liberty were the mixture of Dead Cell, Olga's forces and everyone involved (american merc's), acting under Solidus' orders.
