From where did volgin get the lightning in his body? Was he born like that? It was never stated in mgs3, and i would like to know if there is an answer to this. |

It would have been nice if in MGS3 there would have been some backstory to the charachters, but IMO if that would have been done we would probabbly be playing in medevial times lol |

It's not explained in-game. There are many theories, he has powers, he was an experiment, his suit does it etc. |

I've read on some unofficial crazy MGS fan site that volgins suit (the 10 million volts) was put on him when he was 20. It was supposed to make Volgin's side stronger than the other in some civil war. Volgin's side won and when he found out about that it was going to be mass produced he killed everybody and electrified the papers and tests so that he would be the only one with that suit. Anyway this doesn't make sense to me. PS. Can anyone confirm any of this. And if you can tell me about it damn it I don't wanna have wrong information.

He seems to have kind of scar or bruise in his face. So I'm thinking maybe he was hit by lightning or something just like when died or maybe like some people claim, he was an experiment which seems a bit more realistic. The suit thingy seems unlikely cause it still wouldn't explain the bruises and all that. |

I'm not sure if I heard this correctly, as I haven't played MGS3 in awhile now, but did Volgin and Major Zero have some sort of battle in the past? If so, maybe something to do with them two fighting? I dunno lol. Aaron

I thought the Cobra unit were designed to be the way the were due to undercover experiments. As for why Volgin can control electricity, well he had the Philosopher's legacy, he could have paid to have his body done the way he see fit, to become a true wreaking machine. |

This was MGS3's biggest weakeness, the characters just had these special abilities. Though Ursila on Portable Ops just to it took far, being all magically powered with a blue aura of light surrounding her, rediculous! Its like some stupid over the top anime character. |

I like to think that all the MG special powers are the result of experiments or "cutting edge technology" rather than just lame anime-esque hocus-pocus. So I say Volgin took part in a soviet experiment and came away with scars on his body (the price he paid for such a cool suit) and that the Cobra unit also had some sort of scientific tampering to make them what they are. Otherwise the credibility of the story goes out the window. |

We may never know, there's quite a bit of crazyness like this in MGS, especially 3. But hey, if the pain can spit bees at you anything goes. And Bladen, isn't your pic a bit of a spoiler? |

I think that it would be quite possible, that Volgin had been put to some experiment at a small age, since he had such an sadistic nature(if we assume, that no one is "bad" or "evil" since the day they were born). Maybe he was but in to this suit wich somehow catched the energy around it(from a sun for example) and changes it to the electricy to research how to get the suit work the way that electricy would not effect the suits user. Soviet researchers probably gave him electric shocks evry day, just to get him "used to it" until he would come immune. The scar could be result of some of these experiences gone to far. When he became immune to the electricity he probably killed anyone by his new powers and tooked care of the evidence, so he could go start a carrier in soviet army and revenge on the whole contry or something(if i remember correctly, he had army background). No one really knows, so anything can be possible.

Most likely an accident in my opinion. The rubber gloves on his hands... Hmmm... What's with that? Is it possible that those metal braces on his hands create the electricity? Edited by snake_solid, Jun 21 2008, 03:54 PM.

It must be the suit that makes him controle electricity....Otherwise he would've turned in to ashes, he couldn't be wearing that suit for something else...

Come to think of it, I wish they did explain how some of them got their powers, but not even in Codec conversations did they. Only they spoke of the bomb placed inside each of the combras which would explode if they died so the body would not fall into enemy hands, they explained no more then that. Is it not in the database? does anyone know? Edited by Otacon_Hal, Jun 22 2008, 11:17 PM.
