So I just wanna see what other people are using. Now I myself am a Mac user. No hate please k thanx. Look computers are all around great. We love them. There are all sorts of kinds for different needs. I do A lot of arty kinda stuff so I enjoy the features on my Mac. There are down sides. I can't game as well on a mac. Not that I'm a big computer gammer anyway. But for what I use it for I love my mac. It's got what I need A built in mic and cam. Plus a billion other things. So here is the deal, I want to know what you have and why you like it, what you use it for I DO NOT want to see any one bashing anyone else's stuff. We all have different needs and price ranges. Macs... hah. I'll stop there before you bite me! I have three main computers for various things, but I guess my main-main one which I do everything on, has the following spec: - Pentium 4 CPU @ 3.2GHz - 2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM - Seagate 250GB SATAII HDD's x2 + 250GB external HDD - 2x ATI Radeon X1800XT 512MB cards in Crossfire - Benq FP241W 24" monitor with HDMI input I guess that's the important stuff - self-built of course. If you understand any of that - I salute you!  It's mainly for gaming and whatever else I happen to need doing, or what I might be working on. EDIT: Spelling FTL. What, you people have.. good computers.. :\ Pentium 4 2.4Ghz 7600GS 1GB Ram 40GB HDD I am however getting a new CPU.. stupid thing is it's going to cost even more because the RAM I have is not compatible, same with the motherboard.  Used to have a horrid 6600 card and I got frequent freezes in SupCom, though now I can play with medium fidelity and it's smooth (ish)! SupCom = awesome RTS for those who don't know. ^ Heh - an X600. Count yourself lucky mate, my laptop has a 128MB X600 SE inside, and I am pretty sure that it's because of that/general overheating that my laptop turns itself off after becoming involved with anything graphical after a few minutes...

I went to I33.. took my own PC and used it for the majority but it's not like no one would let you use their PCs  Everyone had all their GFX bumped to the highest while I played on low.. What was funny was putting people off while they were playing haha

Its basically a massive LAN party, this year 2000 people are going, including a little gaming community I belong to, and basically you take your own PC or rent one and bring whatever games you want, and you can requests your own server cause Multiplay host the event, casual gaming, and cash prize competitions will be held too for CoD4, CS:S and a few others. As well as that theres some M Festival where companies and retailers show off the latest stuff and give a few freebies away to lucky folks. Should be a good weekend, will be my first I event. |

Your name would suggest as much  Why do you need such specs? 8GB of RAM wth, can Vista even support that much? How do you sort out the hard drives (what goes on the raptors, the seagate)? Oh and I hear physics cards are a waste, then again more bragging rights Any who - I'm finally getting a PC upgrade.. I finally want to move to dual core and get a decent graphics card. My friend sorted me out motherboard, PSU and RAM-wise.. so I guess I need a case too and probably a monitor, all though my current case may be big enough and the monitor can wait; this one should do for now! If anyone could help me out that'd be nice, I haven't kept up with the latest PC hardware..
