The download link I posted links to their official world records page which will contain a special link to contribute to the download record they are trying to set. Bear in mind that over 1.7m people pledged to download it for the record books, and the record started at 6pm UK time earlier tonight. Still all to play for. ![]() If I cannot access it on my link by 6pm tomorrow night then I will find it elsewhere. |

Inevitable really.

I downloaded Firefox 3 and installed it but it keeps crashing whenever I start it... I've tried pretty much everything, even completely uninstalling then reinstalling it and it won't work. I'm not really in the mood to endlessly try fixing this so it's back to Firefox 2 for now I guess. I got my download in for the World Record at least.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7486668.stm Over 8m downloads were made within 24 hours of the FF3 launch, so they have now set a new world record.

I really don't see much of a difference? Anybody else? When I got my new computer I naturally went and downloaded firefox...didn't notice it was new...didn't even notice until now when I just saw this thread. And to be honest I don't see anything different....whats new? |

Um, there's tons of new features. Check out this video. Firefox is made of pure win. HOWEVER The horrid memory leak is still active. Edited by Sybris, Jul 6 2008, 08:38 PM.

You sure Sybris? I know version 2 for me still leaked often enough, but I have had no problems with the new one.

Heh, mine earlier was 72MB for one tab - MGSF. Just checked now before I post this - it's on 80MB, one tab again. But tbh I don't notice the leaks unless I had half a dozen or more tabs open on v2; during one such time it leaked to over 500MB. I wondered why WoW was shit slow! |
