I basically want to use this thread to post recordings of stuff I'm playing - not necessarily covers, 'cause it's gonna be a lot of classical on the piano front. At the moment I've just got a lowly Chopin prelude, which is one of my favourite pieces: the harmonies change from altering, like, one note in the accompaniment on every change, and you end up with very expressive chords. I've thrown in my old Day at the Beach cover as well, but it's not great. :P

Piano

Chopin Prelude - Op. 28 No. 4
Chopin Prelude - Op. 28 No. 7
Chopin Nocturne - Op. 9 No. 2
Chopin Nocturne - Op. 55 No. 1
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
Schumann - Armes Waisenkind

Guitar

J. Satriani - Day At The Beach
R. Spektor - Bobbing For Apples (+ Vocals)

I had the sound all the way up and it was a little hard to hear but I must say you have a talent on the piano. I havn't listened to the guitar one yet.

Yeah, apologies for that. I had the mic volume up on full and still couldn't get it on a decent volume. Just realised I forgot to amplify through Audacity: uploading a newer version. Regrettably, the mic's actually on the laptop, so you can hear the system whirring in the background.

EDIT: Louder one up.

Tremendous job, Alex!!

I simply adore classical music, and you’re really great! Truly amazing! …I wish I could play piano… even half as good as you. The guitar piece, on the other hand… Maybe it just isn’t my taste… but I really didn’t enjoy it all that much… Sorry!

Nevertheless, you’re breathtaking on the piano… in fact, it was so overwhelming that I’m now considering becoming a groupie just for you.

…Pianists don’t have groupies… But hey! You gotta start somewhere, I guess. ;)

Thanks for the comments, guys. I appreciate guitar isn't quite my forte. :P

@Tamash: I'm working on a Chopin nocturne at the minute - the one from The Peacemaker if you've ever seen it. Beautiful piece; I'll try and get a recording up. Have a fish around for a decent microphone as well. :P

Sorry, I haven't seen it. -_-
Although, if it has anything to do with a Chopin Nocturne… then I’m not gonna be wearing any panties.

…See you after the show, lover boy.
Just please don't tell Sad

Updated the first post with the nocturne; there's a couple of slips with the chords, but I'm fairly pleased. It's just the first section... I can't play past there. :P

Wow, Alex, that’s so awesome.
…It’s just such a pity those damn background noises kinda ruin the mood. -_-

Keep it up though, you’re really quite talented. ^_^
*Tamashi wants and demands more*

Ps. Play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata next. …Please?

If I can find the music somewhere, then sure. And apologies about the microphone. :P

I have a groupie. What a novelty. :D

EDIT: I found a book of Beethoven sonatas, but the moonlight was on page 350 or something, and the book only went into the mid 200s, so I found a different version (which was a book of, like, kiddies easy-to-play classics). The one I uploaded is basically sight-read; there are a couple of slips and the tempo isn't great.

ANOTHER EDIT: Used a different microphone.

Oh, wow! :o
That’s was just delightful, Alex.

Really, well done! (Was that the first time you attempted that piece?)
You were also very speedy on the upload, I’m really impressed… you make me feel like such a whore, sometimes. ;)

Also, nice work finding a different mic, that other one just sorta ruined everything.
…I feel like such a valued fan. (Ahhh…)

When can I expect more?

Dunno... I can't think of any more pieces to upload, so if you have any requests, I'd be happy to oblige. As for the other microphone, I can only use it when it isn't being used elsewhere, since it's borrowed.

That was pretty nice playing. Only a very few mistakes.

How about trying something really fast next? :D Like... How about Mozart? ;)

I'm not sure if I have any music for either (well, no solo piano Mozart, as far as I know). I do Space Dementia and I've had a go at the interlude from Butterflies and Hurricanes (which was terryfying, to be honest). My improv's quite Rachmaninoff-influenced, as well.
