Crying Wolf on Boss Extreme. Just because of the addition of loads of frogs and the unpredictable positioning she takes. If you know what you are doing none of them are hard really. Octopus is simpler than Grey Fox in MGS1. Raven is a piece of piss (one shot with the Rail Gun on Boss Extreme or very fast with .50 Cal). Mantis is eaaaasssy too. M4 to the Mantis doll, pick up, use, win... |

well i just beat the game this morning at 7:30 after gaming at my bros house for 11 hrs, so for me it was Octopus, simply because I had no idea what was going on. But after I figured it out, it wasn't so bad.

Definitely Wolf. Octopus can be a bit of a problem at times, it depends really. Mantis is generally rather easy and Raven is quite laughable. |

well, on my playthrough (i've only played it once, since I don't own it...:(...) I thought Wolf was actually quite easy, in fact, the way I beat her was actually quite cheap. Spoiler: click to toggle

wolf was the hardest on Boss Extreme for me but I was expecting BE to be harder that I thought. Expert on MGS2 is 10x harder than extreme on MGS4 |

I'd say crying wolf on Extreme. Octopus, all you have to do is stand on a bed and you shouldn't get hit. Raven, you can kill in two shots and shouldn't get hit. Mantis is just basic. Wolf, it was those damn troops, trying not to get an alert. On any mode other then The Boss extreme, I think its a tie though...makes the wolf fight a lot easier when you don't have to worry about alerts or kills. |

Wolf, definitely. Those FROGS are real buggers, and it just seems like too much of a hassle. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. |

Crying Wolf was not that difficult once you have chosen a good method for taking her down. On Boss Extreme difficulty, I hid under the truck and once she showed up on the screen, I fired two White Phosphorous grenades at her. After repeating the same tactic for a several rounds, I took out the Sniper Rifle and popped her head once she attempted to fire the Rail Gun at me. When she gets knocked down, a bit of her psyche falls off as well as damage from the impact of being hit with the grenade, so taking her psyche down with the Mosin Nagant is not a bad choice of weapon either. That boss battle always takes the longest. Although on my first play through, it took me damn near an hour to defeat Raging Raven. It was not the fact that she was difficult, her damn body consumed so much ammo it was not funny. On my second play through, when I got the Rail Gun, I was like hell yeah! |

Crying Wolf takes the longest easily, but is also the most fun for those who enjoy sniping, like me! |

I've yet to play the game on extreme. Though, I didn't really have any prob with the bosses, except for Raging Raven. Once I got the .50 cal snip rifle. It was easy. Crying Wolf was a joke to me on Solid Normal. |

Crying wolf was the hardest for me, especially since I like going for no-alert runs and those FROGs can be irritating

mantis becomes alot easyer once you know how to kill her, before she can throw frogs at you, get your m4 with a rifle scope out (must get attachment) and quickly shoot the dolls and keep moving so the frogs dont get to you. Crying wolf was the hardest, but i guess that its just the element of suprise and unkown she has on you that makes her feel impossible to beat. i just had my trusty rocket launcher out and followed her tracks, and once you hit her, she limps of and lies down and you shoot her again. by the way this is my first mgs game so im a bit of a n00b, but i managed to finish it on solid normal, but ill try a harder level next time i play it, ive only finished it once. |
