Death to the Patriots!
|
Is it just me or did they not include the award winning official MGS theme tune in guns of the patriots? |

They did. "Metal Gear Saga" plays during the credits, and the last two minutes of it plays in the leadup to the Final Boss. |

Just like said above, The popular theme from MGS2 and MGS3 though was taken out because of plagiarism though...:( made me a sad panda cause that was one of my favorite tunes of the series. |

DAMN YOUTUBE BEING BROKEN!!!!!!!!!! RAGE!!!!!!!!!! RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On another note...not being able to hear the music I can't make judgement on it, but the Metal Gear Saga is clearly similar to the MGS3 theme. But it sucks if this was the reason. Although this legal action is seven years late. |

Bloody Harry Gregson-Williams stealing other peoples music and making it different but better by far! I loved the MGS2 and MGS3 soundtracks. MGS1 score was incredible though, the music was amazing and I do like the music for MGS4 too. Just a shame that HGW seems to have gained his ideas from somewhere else. |

I don't know if stealing is the right word here since we don't know how HGW made his theme. For all we know it could be pure coincidence that they sound similiar. Stranger things have happened. |

@Bladen: Yes. Yes it really does. If they didn't take it out, Konami and Kojima could have been sued for plagarism and they would have lost. The notes in the Russian made symphony and the MGS theme are too similar to be mere coincidence. Harry clearly took his ideas for the MGS theme song from that piece and hoped that no one would remember such an old musical score. Anyway, MGS4 did have a theme song. It wasn't played in a video at the beginning, like MGS2 and MGS3 (sadly.. there was no video at the beginning). Here is the Metal Gear Solid 4 theme song. It's basically a remix of the MGS3 theme song. |

Um, just to clarify- Harry Gregson-Williams didn't write the theme, 'TAPPY' Iwase did. And as far as I know, there was no legal action taken. Those Russian guys were just from a game magazine that noticed the similarities. |

There wasn't really any legal action taken, but they were also not aloud to put it in MGS4 though for that reason...which is sad, I was expecting to hear it at the end of the credits like they did with MGS3...but instead they replaced it with something I couldn't care for. |

But Konami may well have removed it, incase legal action was taken. Like Snake Liquid said, if it had been taken, they would have lost. |

You never know, but the odds would be against Konami that they would win. And if they did win then they must be paying for some great lawyers. |

Those Russians are just angry because they became the Nuke-hungry bad guys in MGS3 (Volgin wanting nuke, and Kruschev hungry for Shagohod data)

Just a not, Harry didn't copy anything. The theme was during MGS1, Harry did not produce then. He started from MGS2, he must have just carried it on. |
