Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots	Spoiler: click to toggle At the end of mgs2 octacon goes that when he analysed the disk with information from arsenal gear he found a list of name and 1 of them was phylanthropy's biggest contributors. Was this ever explained in the game or is this another loose end that kojima forgot to tie. And also what happened to liquads arm its a robotic form now. cheers.

Spoiler: click to toggle The Patriots manipulated many things to get their way which included creating false infomation. I.e. that there 12 Patriots and they died over 100 years ago (end of MGS2), of course that is not true as we know who the Patriots are and when they died Edited by AdamsKi, Jul 8 2008, 11:16 PM.

In fact what really happened was that in an effort to save his brother from Big Boss, John Freeman leached money from Microsoft to Otacon's bank account. Otacon got caught in the end, which also explains why Otacon is kept in a confined coup in MGS4 (he's imprisoned in Bill Gate's room). Subsequently, this didn't appear on the XBox version of Substance, which probably explains why you didn't know this.

Spoiler: click to toggle Im sure that they said the disk that was obtained at the end was just fake to confuse snake and otacon about the patriots. About Ocelots arm, at the time of MGS2 ocelot had liquids arm attached to his, but this made liquid's personality take over ocelot's at the appearance of snake, then it started to completely take over. Later he manage to get rid of it, and transplant a robotic arm or of some sort and took some kind of drugs and some mind thing (i forgot sorry), that managed him to have liquids personality, making everyone believe (including the patriots) that his personality was abducted by Liquid's.
