Well, in an ideal world they wouldn't be needed, in an ideal world we wouldn't even need the military, like I said before, killing for money just doesn't sit well with me, capitalism and war are the two things I hate the most, and to kill someone I would need a very good cause, but having lived in a warzone I realise that things like mercenary groups and private security contractors are necessary, even if the are working alongside the oppressors, it's an unfortunate truth, but the truth nonetheless. While I obviously disagree with merc activity in Iraq, they are really helping in countries like Peru, Indonesia, Uganda, Bolivia, all around the world they are helping to clear up troublespots, and essentially making them less troublesome, so while I don't like the concept, I still recognise that without them the world would probably be a more dangerous place. |

Actually, they are the cause for much of the violence in hotspots. There's numerous conflicts that were no conflicts until PMCs were brought in to settle minor non-violent differences by the party with the most money. |

Nope, never been to the US and if I ever go there Arizona isn't very high on my list, so to say. Gonna avoid the Bible Belt altogether with the exception of Houston and Austin. Why? Also, practically all PMCs have hard contracts because they want to be able to rely on their troopers. Blackwater, for example, got one of the harshest. |

I didn't say that any of them were easy. The reason I asked about Arizona, is because although it's a goddamn desert that can reach over 110 Fahrenheit, it's not usually considered one of the more Southern, bumfuck states. Places like Arkansas for example. Either way that's not here nor now. Back to PMC's. What alot of these companies do is 3 months in and 1 month off. You leave to whatever the destination is and go wherever for 3 months, and come home for a month. I imagine it's sort of...well...a mind fuck for most people who aren't former military, regarding the schedules. Work days are generally 12 hours as well. That seems to be the norm for Private Security Contractors, because when I was in a PSC, that was the norm. So don't consider it if you think you're going to miss home all that much, kids. |

Well, Blackwater are certainly the subject of a lot of controversy in the media, but let's be clear on one thing, coalition soldiers have done a lot worse things than Blackwater, AND got away with it. |

Thats a silly thing to say The Protagnoist, Solid Snake is a fictional character. However Register, I have no doubt that there are alot of people out there who feel being a soldier is there only purpose. It's not just a concept the Metal Gear series created. |

If being a soldier is one's only purpose then hell yes they need therapy; badly. If they can't live without having a profession who's first and still main purpose is to kill other humans then they are not right in their head. |

There will always be idiots who feel they have a need to fight in a war, nobody needs to fight a war, cause whichever side you fight for, at the end of the day it is wrong. Theres no excuse for it anymore, back in WWII, the propaganda really did have an effect on people, cause it was really quite new then, and was highly effective, now its easy to see through it. |
