Frog soldiers and Gekko

I was always wondering about their names...

Shouldn't they be switched around? The Frog soldiers can cling onto any surface (like a gecko) and the Gekko jumps around alot (like a frog).

Or is it just me?

I never particularly understood the chosen namesake for Gekkos. I'm not sure if Frog stands for anything, but it seems apt enough. There are sticky footed frogs that jump around and cling to surfaces, you know.

Uhh... the exact same thing happens with the gekkos.

I'm assuming its something to do with size or that FROGS stands for something.

Im sure the database says something

Yeah, somebody should check the DB, I don't have access right now. They [Frogs and Gekkos] do obviously have similar behavior, but differ on scale, function, degrees of synthetic and natural material and application.

In the game Otacon speculated that the boots and gloves of The Frogs and Vamp uses a mechanism that employs ''Van der Waals Force''. That technology is a mutual interaction that occurs between two electrically neutral particles allowing heavy objects to crawl up walls. This technology is also shared by the Gekko's in the game, though the heavy weight of the Gekko makes it unable to physically cling to a vetical surface, that's why only the FROGS and Vamp can cling to such a surface, and not the Gekko's.

There's the explanation why the FROGS and Vamp can jump can cling to vertical surfaces and why Gekko's can't...Basically, the Gekko's too heavy too be able to cling on to a vertical surface...

Gekkos have some form of synthetic flesh in their legs to lend them more flexibility, hence the blood when Raiden is tearing them up, right?

The Gekko has the same synthetic legs as Metal Gear RAY, and their head has the same shape and form as Metal Gear REX...

Doesn't Raiden put a sword through one of the Gekkos heads and it starts bleeding?

Yes, gekko also means moonlight in japanese and in chinese, but I think that when they modeled it, they were reffering it to the animal gekko, that small reptile that's from Southeast Asia....

Speaking of Gekko...

During the second world war, the Japanese navy developed a variant of the fighter plane, Nakajima J1N. It was called Model 11 Gekko by the japanese but by the Allies it was called...

I all ways thought that FROGS stood for some thing like, Female-recon-op-genome-soldier. or some thing like of the sort. But definatly the Female-genome soldier part.
Just my thought.
