In the CMG Metal Gear Solid Edition of the magazine it's stated he's based on many different people, namely movie characters that Kojima is a fan of, though I don't have the magazine to hand to quote anything right now. I'm sure someone else would be able to fill in the gaps lol

Lots of people in the Metal Gear saga are based on real people. Kojima based Big Boss on Sean Connery. I don't know what the inspiration for Snake is though, I think it is a combination of many things.

In MGS1 Snake was supposed to have Jean-Claude Van Damme's (or how it's spelled) body and young Mel Gibson's face (impossible to see because of awfull graphics).
In the MSX game MG1, Snake was modelled after the main character in Terminator 1 (Don't remember who) and Big Boss was Sean Connery.

Snake's appearance is based on Mel Gibson in Metal Gear 2, and Michael Biehn (Kyle from The Terminator) in Metal Gear.

i thought in mgs2 he .. or rather "pliskin" was based off a character of the same name in some other movie. " escape from _______ " ahh, the name escapes me. and the guy in the movie, his code name was also "snake" :p.

Russle Crowe?! RUSSLE CROWE?! Nonono. Kurt Russel ;) He's a far better actor. That Crowe man makes me shudder with disgust. But Plisken was based on Kurt Russel.

Did you make that picture of the B&B/real life counter-parts yourself? If not, where might I find a larger version that I could use for my desktop wallpaper?

I find it strangely hilarious that the whitest girl; Lyndall Jarvis is from Africa.
Man, my humor can be corrupt.
But many people do agree, she's the hottest of the bunch.

How is it strange to imagine a White African? There are over 7 million white Africans in Africa, mostly because of the European influence of the British and French over the course of history.

I don't know where Lyndall is from, but shes probably of British decent :)

It's because of my crazy black corrupt humor, I'm aware of the citizen population in Africa.
In the eyes of some of the US's citizens, some may perceive a "White African" to be strange.
And I checked, she's actually Northern European, hope that info is true, don't wanna be wrong again.

Hey, she could be from South Africa, the majority there are white people....She could also be of Dutch descent, since many african countries are former Dutch colonies...
