Friday, 24th October 2008 - Royal Festival Hall, London. [Southbank Centre]

Press release from August about the event in London: http://videogameslive.com/index.php?story=177

I was there. Took a handful of images and filmed the first 20-25 minutes of the show which contained the opening - the classic arcade medley, which then went straight into a short message from the man Hideo Kojima, and then the MGS medley.

I will aim to get some uploads rolling in the next few days, most likely as I filmed them (on my phone...) and although the resolution is tiny, the quality is not bad for a phone. (will look into finding some images if there are any decent ones)

Did anyone else go, or has anyone else been to any of their shows before?

Contents: This .zip archive contains two movie files I filmed, both are in .3gp format. (Quicktime) To get Quicktime, click here. The first file (Mov00022) is 15 minutes long and contains the start of the show - the classic arcade segment. At 8mins 30, the show host, Tommy Tallarico enters and formally introduces the show. At 12 mins, some hilarious remarks about video games are made! At 13mins 40, the MGS segment starts. To continue with the MGS music, it rolls over to the next clip. (Mov00023) At 1min 08 - something great happens. If you can't make it out, post here! When the MGS segment ends, you see some of the God of War intro and the clip ends.

I also filmed the Warcraft medley - contact me if you'd like it uploaded.

All comments are welcome in this thread regarding Video Games Live. :)

Yeah dude, I'm planning on going to the Kitchener one in March. I'm excited. I've been once before as a birthday present but now that I've been, I'm planning on getting a whole group together to travel to the show. I'm awaiting the release of their second CD. The first one is amazing.

Did they play this at your show? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B02DTiDaCXY

Yes they did. There was a couple of funny little clips at the start like that - another one was an anime-style song based on video games and consoles - also very funny. :)

Sweet. I'm glad they change things up a bit for every show. There's still some game sthat I've heard they play music from that I have yet to hear. So I'm looking forward to that. No one filmed those opening clips then eh?

I've always wanted to go to one of these and London's pretty close but I didn't even know they were having a new tour. Ah well, maybe next time.

They're not my favorite Video Game music band/concert. That honour would have to go to The Black Mages - they are SO awesome. Nobuo looks so stylish on keyboard ^_^ .

However, if we're talking about a specific show, Tour De Japon would be my winner. Simply stunning. Some of the best music I have ever heard in my life.

VGL is definitely a good experience, even if you have never been or seen videos and thought that it might not look that good. I've been twice now and would go again. :)
