Healing Items and Emblem; Recovery items and foxhound emblem

Probably got this one a bit, sounds stupid but im reeeally confused and kinda angry at this.
Im on my second playthough big boss hard trying to get the foxhound emblem, after a lot of pains i just finished act 1 in decent time, only problem is on the report it says i have used 1 recovery item.
Now i made absolutely sure not to use any rations, noodles, regainers, compress. But I did use the muna herb to help my psyche, ive been reading that healing items are considered those that only instantly heal you (rations, noodles, regainers). Do items like the muna herb and such, that mostly just help ur psyche count? for the emblems does the Recovery Items line have to be 0?
sorry if i sound noobish
thanx thou.

the only health items that count are rations, noodles,& regains, anything else shouldn't count, you may have used one without realizing it

well I ran through it again, youre probably right i mustve accidentally used a ration or somthin, but on my second run i didnt use the muna either, ill prolly be to scared to use it for a while. But I also have another question. The alert phases, on my first run i thought i didnt have any alerts, but i did trigger a caution, in my report it said i had an alert, so cautions are the same as alerts or did i mess up without noticin again

Cautions don't count, you must've missed an alert.
Instead of using found items for psych you can use the syringe. Since its a plot device it doesn't count against you as a used item.

yeah but if you use it more than 10 times than snake will start to throw up and you will loose some psyche

True, but even on the TBE you hardly need to use it, once or twice maybe and that's just out of precaution. So there shouldn't be any worry of over using it.

Something similar to this happened to me yesterday. I was aiming to get another Foxhound rank in a quicker time (1st time was 5hr24) When I was got through the first act I realised that I had continued once. Then I remembered it was when that milita tank ran me over :X: At least there's no limits to how many times you can save.

I actually had to use that a good bit with Wolf but i certainly didn't use it 10 times and he threw up 3 times (which didn't help when Wolf was charging at me).
I used the muņa a bit and it never counted for me. Don't forget you can use compress and healing music which personally i think helps A LOT in certain situations.

I see, well Im finally around the end of ActII, But I just realized what might be a problem. Since its my second run I thought I'd get not only the foxhound emblem, stealth, and bandana, silly me wanted to get the solar gun. Problem is I have to stamina kill the bosses, which apparently takes a long time. Seein how i have 5 1/2 hours to finish it for foxhound, is it a good idea to go for it or perhaps save it for another run?

You would be best waiting until your next try for the dolls e.g. Solar gun.
As for the mantis doll i'm pretty sure it's lethal since

and also it has a red icon which means it is lethal (blue means non-lethal).

The doll isn't lethal. Takes down stamina as well. Either way, that is the only way you can beat her.
And it would be best to wait for another round to get the solar gun. It is very possible to get it while going for Foxhound as well. But just make it easier on yourself and wait for the next run.

True but i used it in my BBE run once on a PMC member to check and it counted as a kill but i know you were mainly talking about Mantis.

If we could go back to the "used 1 recovery item" issue, does it count as a recovery item when you lay prone to fully refill your health and psych bars? You wouldn't think so, but that's the only thing I did in each act during my last playthrough, and by the end of the game it said I had used 5 recovery items. This makes no sense at all; I've been poring over the official strategy guide (and the internet) but can find no mention of it. It's driving me nuts! Anyone have any insights?

laying down to recover definately does NOT count as a recovery item. even if you use the ipod songs to speed up the process. i believe it's only rations, noodles, or regain that count.

I'm sure you're right, but I'm really at a loss to explain why it said I was using recovery items...

do you have any recovery items equipped? if so i suggest you un-equip them so you don't accidentally use them

I'm aware that you automatically use rec. items you have equipped if your health is fully depleted, but I'm positive that never happened; I only had them equipped to give them to militia. I guess I'll have to do as you suggest and just keep them out of my inventory completely. Thanks.
