Yeah, I speak about people from Europe, US, Canada, Australia, and pretty much every single other non-Japanese country who add -san, -chan, and -kun to the end of names, use expressions such as Nippon and Kawaii seriously, and generally act like Japan is the heaven of all that's good. Seriously, you look and act like idiots and as such, you must be idiots. Stop that annoying shit and grow the fuck up. |

Isn't there a topic about the same matter?: E: Too slow I don't look very highly at the crazy Japmaniacs either for the most of the time. Same goes for being obsessed by any country. Reminds me of this idiot who lives nearby who has a fucking U.S.A flag hanging in his doorstep. Why exactly? I don't know. (No offense to Americans, but that is just dumb). Keivan-Chan? It just sounds so perfect. I could personally care less about them, I mean, if they really like Japanese media, I fail to see the harm, though those overkill people need to cease and desist. |

It's a poorly named thread which is why I haven't seen it. But yeah, these people are idiots. I just came to think of it again after reading this post. Do these people not realize how dumb they look? |

Theres nothing wrong with that post though. Because Hideo is Kojima-San and is the proper way to say his name in Japan So bitching about that is just unnecesary |

No, the proper way would have been to say either Mr. Hideo or the entire post in Japanese. He writes English and as such should use the English prefix, not the Japanese suffix. You don't go around saying "Herr Reinfeldt" instead of Mr. Reinfeldt(Swedish Prime Minister) when you're speaking English because it's not English. And if you do do that then well, you're the same type of idiot. I'm not a hater of Japan, just this kind of people. I can appreciate media and history from Japan(I mean, I've watched a few animes throughout the years* and I do have some J-Rock and J-Pop on my playlist) but these people are just idiots. *Most of them suck though. |

Wow, dude. I hate that type of otaku speech as well, but seriously, you're telling them to grow up when you made this trolling, flaming thread just to talk shit about them like a child? No offence, but perhaps you should listen to your own advice. |

Right. I hang out with people who do this. I get your frustration, but this isn't the way to express that frustration, honestly. This type of thing just creates more anger in the world. That anger leads to hate, and that hate is what's tearing our world apart. |

I don't hate people*, I hate things that people do. Being fucking weeaboos is pretty highly rated on that list. *No seriously. I can't bring myself to hate any human being, past or present. It's just not in my nature. |

I kind of agree with you on this. I dislike people who do this with any language other than their native tongue, if they (or the person they are talking to) aren't fluent in the other language. For example English speaking British people who say bonjour to other English speaking British people. It really gets under my skin for some reason, and I have no idea why. I had a real problem with this "Japlingo" during my first year of Sixth Form. Three real hardcore PC game geeks who were deep into ('mainstream' and cliché choice) anime used a butchered version of Japanese quite regularly and it was seriously annoying. Also very distracting when you are trying to revise the chancellors of Weimar Germany or British Judicial law and then you hear "Kawaii Shane-san" or some other combination of badly accented Japanese with English. But I don't think there's nothing really wrong with it, it just gets under my skin and makes me boil with rage. It's just a person using something they have heard in a piece of media and then using it in a different context. It's like if I use a phrase from Metal Gear (which I have done) in a comedic context. It's bloody annoying though. |

Okay, I'm going to sound like a fucking tool but please, I have no idea about this shit, I understand European culture, I understand Middle Eastern culture and I understand American culture, but I don't have a clue about Asian culture, when I went to Japan a friend of mine explained it, but I still don't get it, so here goes, why do Japanese people add things onto the end of their names? Please don't murder me. |

Register-san, why so serious? (I agree with you BTW, like people online I talk to, you show them a pic or song or vid or whatever and they go like "OMG that is SOOOOOOO kawaii!" Not to mention they will thank with "arigato" and apologise with "gomen." Seriously I love Japanese stuff but when talking to Japanese freak I still wanna have normal level of conversation without any of those "LOOK@ME I CN SPEK JAPANEZE" parts.) @OuterJacob-kun:

*Grins a wide glinty-teethed grin of affection* Well my dear, I found a video on YouTube that really sums some of this all up (Yes I am aware of the YouTube Thread, but it is within context to post this here), however this guy speaks Japanese with a strange accent! So I don't know what hes getting at. There will always be the culture 'Fanboys' who latch on to a culture cause they think its cool, but I think the most important thing to remember is to learn the culture and language PROPERLY. Unlike a joke I saw once about the English abroad who think that talking the language is speaking English but with the accent! I mean, I've been told that I speak English with a thick Dutch accent (*Looks really disapointed and let down*), Sooooo, I took lessons, spoke to more native english speakers and asked them to correct me whenever I sounded 'Squeeky' or gutteral (One of the biggest problems with Dutch on English is not sounding gutteral, espacially with 'G'). Good thing I'm very softspoken anyway *Whispers seductivly*. However, my father sounds American when he speaks english so hes really got it down to a fine art! (Hehe I'll learn that!) *High Cheekboned Grin* |

Wow, your panties are awfully bunched up over a rather insignificant point. As Null said, I'm the worst example you could've used. I don't use "Japlingo"; many people (including Americans) refer to Hideo as 'Kojima-san'. It's all through the MGS4 strategy guide, for example. If you've got a problem with people who call him that, or even with people who really do use "Japlingo", I suggest you start ignoring them, because it's rather pathetic to feel so strongly about something so stupid. Complaining about everything will get you nowhere in life. So get over it, chum. Go get a job and put all that energy to good use. |

). A good example is a maid calling her master "Taro-sama" (Taro is used as a Japanese generic name. Nothing to do with Taro Hanaukyo (花右京太郎 Hanaukyō Tarō), a character from Hanaukyo Maid Team
). I think this is rarely used nowadays. It can also be sarcastic. The title "shi" may be preferred.
