So I myself just got skype today. I'm finding it pretty wicked. Great for me because i moved away from all friends and family a while ago and I have no one of my age to talk to. I am a live in nanny as some of you may know and this means I have very little time to go out and make friends as after work I'm tired. I came to this forum so I could find some people with the same interests as I to do some chatting. Never thought of skype actually i used it a few years ago but forgot about it. Today I have already talked to a few people on it. I like how you can chat and see people if you have a cam. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in chatting via skype. I donno If I'm going to post my skype name here, but if you wanted to chat maybe you could pm me. Also I would like to know your thoughts on skype negatives and posatives If you are a skype user and not as shy as me and would like to post your skype username By all means do so! Heh, Me and Tamashi talk quite regularly on Skype, for 1 it's free, 2 it's pretty darn good quality compared to everyhting else on the net. Think my name was sadistic_greyfox not sure, beware though if you talk to me and tam at the same time your head might explode from the awesomness that spew from our souls through our mouths. |

KK, Most people are generally shy but don't worry, we break the ice easily for them. I won't be on it for the rest of today though, tomorrow I'm sure I'll be available all day and hopefully tam is too then we could have the craziest time of your life, so crazy that you might kick the pc monitor in joy aas well as anger, you will experience the 2 simultaneously. and don't knock the 1 year olds, they have the deepest and most complex conversations. We, as older folks, can learn alot form their wisdom. Anyways talk to you tomorrow if your on. |

I am in a similar situation, actually, and I use Skype a fair bit. So add me, if you want. Skype Name: tamashi_7 Just... be aware of the craziness, as Sad himself pointed out.  Edit: I have more time to elaborate now. I think it's pretty damn awesome in itself. The fact that it allows me to talk with Saddie-pie is enough reason for me to worship it as a God... But no, seriously, I've had some wonderful times chit-chatting with folks on Skype. It's genuinely awesome. |

Anyway - yes; Skype is awesome and stuff, been using it for ages now and chatted to a good handful of forum folk on it, and also for my other business. (Warcraft) Generally the hours I can be found on it vary.... blame my University placement office for not helping me to get a job which therefore means I am at home and not working but still trying to get a job which also means the times at which I play games is weird too which means my time online is also damn strange too and also the fact that this is one giant setence that I can't be arsed to use punctuation in but with any luck some people that actually read this topic and stumble across this post might actually read it and try to take in the goodness that secretes it well alright maybe not but then they can just go and bugger off for not reading my post hmph. What the hell just happened? krypton_ls stops crying. Erm yeah... what I was going to say was that I'll give (something) to whoever can guess my Skype name. Also included for that lucky person is the answer I shall relay back to them now: Correct. (it's the same for everything) EDIT: Thought that I'd add it was krypton_ls in case anyone actually couldn't be arsed to read the above post... I don't blame you. Yes - you are restricted by having a maximum of 5 people in a conference call at the same time, else the only other 'chat' is the chat feature which we all know on programs like MSN and stuff. Unless the 5 people involved are in the same country it is not generally advised to have a conference call with people from all over; the lag will be tremendous, and as has been stated you will end up talking over each other.
