Getting up to speed before MGS4

Just purchased MGS4 and it turns out I’ve got problems with my ps3, so it’s going for warranty repair and I’ve got some time before I get started. I haven’t actually played the previous games, though I’ve done a bunch of reading to try to catch up. I thought that this would give me the opportunity to play some of the old games (either on ps2 or pc) but I can’t find copies at any stores in town! Was wondering if there are any good sites where I could download some of the old Metal Gear games onto my PC (any sites I’ve come across seem to have me jumping through so many hoops to get anywhere near downloading the games). I’m willing to pay for a legitimate copy, if I can find a good site that can provide one. Any ideas?

You're lying, I've been you

We can't talk about such illegal actions on the forum...but I'm sure some nice person might send you a private message with such sites. ;)

I hear ya. Although, if I had the game at least I'd have something to do in jail.

I guess I was wondering if it was even possible to get it through Konami as a download somewhere. I just can't find copies locally.

Yeah I suppose ... just thought I'd see if there was anything more immediate first before I went that route.

I bought copies of MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3 all at once. I went to a Gamestop and purchased a pack called "The Essential Package" or something like that. It comes with MGS1-MGS3. It only cost me about 30 bucks.

Take me to boob town

Well since the release of MGS4 all MGS games (especially the extras e.g. MGS2 Substance) have boomed up in price. (go to Amazon.co.uk and check the price of MGS3 Subsistence). I bought subsistence for £28 bout 4 months ago new. 1 seller has it for £300 now.

The price of the actual games hasn't increased much, but you might want to think of ordering it soon if no local stores have it (not many do).
