mgs needs to be brought back to the modern age needs to be kept true to its self by keeping every detail the same just up rated ps3 graphics and all on one blue-ray disc. it is the best game and deserves to be brought back to the modern day if not for profits but for the fans! |

Hate to say this, but I doubt it will happen, if not for a long time. The Twin Snakes was released for the Gamecube, with graphical and gameplay updates. |

I don't think there will be a remake of mgs1 for the ps3 (would be cool though!)... I do hope there will finally be made a remake of mg1 en mg2

meh. in that case they have to keep everything EXACLY the way they were in 98. EVERYTHING. including the original voices. and cutscenes. so, everything is the same except for better graphics and improved gameplay. and thats never going to happen. which means I think its a bad idea. x) |

Truth spoken right there, and there are numerous similar topics where this has been discussed. I highly doubt there would ever be another remake of the original PSX version of Metal Gear Solid. The Twin Snakes wasn't even a worthy remake in my opinion. It had better graphics and (meh..) dogtags but they made an essential mistake for me by changing some characters' voice actor (like Gray Fox') and some lines were completely different. |

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and NO. See i knew this would happen. First everyone wants Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake remade. At that point i said no because the originals are special and i said i feared that Playstation's best ever game would then be what everyone wanted remade. And here we are. It's been remade already, and it sucked in my opinion (others liked it, others didn't). If you were a real fan, you wouldn't want MGS remade. Edited by Nathan_snake, Aug 11 2008, 03:36 PM.

Yeah, it wont happen, but would be awesome if they remade MGS1 in the mgs4 kinda gameplay, as in controls and GFX, but o well |

No. It's already in 3d. Has excellent, or at least satisfactory gameplay, brilliant voices, brilliant animation.. and I could go on, The only reason they would want to remake this game would be money. If they did remake it, I wouldn't buy it. Not only that, I would probably lose a lot of respect for Konami / Kojima Productions.
Anyone who calls themselves a real MGS fan, would turn their back on this idea. I hope. |

The only reason I would like it remade is so I can get my friends who haven't experienced the greatness of the original to play the game, but without the crapfulness of the Twin Snakes. It's just not the same without the music, voices, and other subtle little things that a remake will destroy. Edited by Zeroth, Aug 12 2008, 04:09 PM.

not unless the right people make it, with the twin snakes it was other people who remade it, kojima had nothing to do with it. anyways, one reason for an mg and mg2 remake(the original msx version) is to expand on outer heaven, zanzibar land, and the relationship of solid snake with gray fox and big boss |

I beg to differ, that's a really silly thing to say, I'd love it to happen, original voice overs remastered, the soundtrack could use an update but it would be largely the same, in glorious MGS4 graphics (and probably better). It might seem pointless to a lot of people, but who here can tell me that it would not be a good game? |

I don't think it would make a good game. If it used the same basic engine as MGS4, it would make it far too easy. MGS1 had such small areas which made it perfect for the PS1. If it had all the gameplay features of MGS4, they would have to put in a lot more guards to make it at least challenging, and the rooms are too small to allow for this. Maybe I am wrong though, having not played the Twin Snakes I wouldn't really know. |

Keep in mind that with MGS4 the guards were a lot smarter, they could see a lot further, and they were no longer deaf, it would be pretty hard to move across rooms as small as say the storage building or the tank hanger without attracting their attention, so you wouldn't need more guards, you'd just need better AI, which it would obviously have. As for TTS, it's very easy because they put things like combat rolls and hanging mode in, but they didn't significantly change the AI, if the guards in TTS were better, it would've been a pretty good challenge. |

I would be all for it if they: used the ps1 voices kept the cutscenes the same as ps1 kept the gameplay the same as ps1 (i.e. no fpv) or gave options for 2 types of gameplay kept music same as ps1 kept everything the same as ps1 version except graphics. It won't happen. All we would get is something worse than Twin snakes. |

Silly? I don't think so. MGS was brilliant. Amazing. Especially for the console it was on and what KP had to work with. Everyone wants a remake? We get it, they change lots and lots of things, and it's brutal. So the next remake will be so much better? Even if it was the best game ever released on a Playstation console, i couldn't give a damn. Because remaking a game like MGS twice is ridiculous and i will have no respect for MGS or KP at that point. And they'll probably just fuck it up just like TTS, but whether it's good or bad it makes no difference. Sure why don't we remake MGS2 aswell? And then MGS3? And by the time they're done remaking every other MG game, we might be on PS4, so lets remake MGS4 too! Edited by Nathan_snake, Aug 13 2008, 12:55 PM.

MGS is a classic...and possibly the greatest game ever released on the original Playstation platform. I don't think we should take that away from PS1.
