A source tells the Enquirer, "(Producers) are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny's a pro. He'll be able to take direction from director Chris Nolan and still make the character his own. "And what better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman." I imagined Johnny Depp playing The Riddler when I read this, I think it could work, Depp is a man who can about play any role. However... In my opinion. The Riddler and The Joker look to much alike. The Joker was already insane, how 'bout Riddler? I'm thinking it will look to much alike, which is why I would rather see a different villain then The Riddler. About Penguin, didn't Nolan say he wants to keep clean and not put villains like that in the movie? I don't think that about the Penguin is true, but we'll see. Thoughts? I agree with you, Liquid - The Joker and The Riddler are quite alike... so much so that I thought if Ledger hadn't gotten the role of The Joker, than Depp would have been the next best thing. If it turns out The Riddler is the next villain, I hope they put him in his original suit. The one he wore in the comic, not the ''Jim Carrey'' one. And yeah, Phillip Seymour Hoffman totally convinced me in Capote. If Nolan changes his mind after all, he would be a great Penguin.

I'm still skeptical towards that, sure, Jolie's fucking hot, and everyone would be pleased, but yeah... Also, I think someone mentioned she would do a good job at it, haven't heard that she's interested yet. Either way, we'll find out soon.

I would rather Depp took over the mantle as the Joker so they could show the Joker as Batman's true infinite enemy cue people saying "Nooooo no one can replace Heath he's god* no he's with god at the moment so yes, someone must replace him. But nevertheless it looks like they have other plans anyway with Riddler,Catwoman, Penguin and other villains. But yeah Riddler is way too similar to the Joker, hope there not just trying to milk the popularity of the Joker by bringing in such a similar character. And just about every Batman villain could be labeled insane.

To disregard a major villain like him in the last half-hour of a film was bad direction if he isn't coming back. Not only that, his coin landed lucky side up, and there would have been no point in that shot if he was truly dead. If they just added the Riddler to the film along with Two-Face, then that would work, but be insanely like the Batman Forever film in terms of villains, which I swear Nolan said he didn't want to do. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots	You know, in my honest opinion, Phillip is an excellent choice for Penguin, but Depp isn't a good choice for Riddler. Anyone else think a pretty decent choice would be Michael Ian Black? Because the guy looks and sounds a tad bit more like Riddler. That mischeivious sound of charm in his voice and the appearance seems to possibly fit better. Depp is a tad bit too animated to be Riddler in my opinion.

The other night I thought of somebody who would be absolutely perfect as the Riddler, but now I can't remember who the hell it was. Hopefully it'll come back to me. But I would call the Riddler crazy. He's not insane like the Joker, but obviously he's obsessed with riddles. There's been a lot of stuff in the comics about he's unable to commit a crime without leaving a riddle clue behind, it's like an obsessive thing he has to do.

I think Penguin is a bit weird of a choice, because I was sort of just expecting either Riddler or Mr. Freeze, but then again, Freeze is somewhat cliche too.

Id like them to go down the Two-Face or Riddler line. It would make far more sense in my opinion than trying to replace the Joker whos role was superb in TDK, or brining in an overly cliched villain/heroine like Penguin or Catwoman.
