Ok...so its fake. But it looks badass!

I guess they loose their rights to the movie by 2010. So it'll be a while before we get real news on the movie since they have to redo a deal and all that before they can start working on another.

I think they want to continue on with the idea of the Joker but don't want to 'besmirch Ledger's memory' and also know having a replacement Joker would cause an uproar. Millions of fangirls everywhere would be torn between 'OMG JOHNNY DEPP IS SOOOO KEWL' and 'OMG NO ONE CAN DO THE JOKER BETTER THAN LEDGER'... heads would explode. This would be very yes for me, very no for the world.

I don't give a rat's ass about Jolie, and I HOPE for crissake that they do not cast her. The less movies I have to see her in, the better. She nearly ruined Wanted.

And, fuck catwoman, anyway. I want to see Harley Quinn. :|

@Solidfox: Dude, that's an amazing fake. They should pay whoever did it and use it.

Best fake award EVER.

Depp's best role was in Terms of Endearment as the loner boyfriend, he has failed at everything since then.

Either way it all depends on the meaning[can't think of a better word]of the next film, the first was Batman's origins, the second was his acceptance of the dark knight,

nothing can shake him after the joker.

riddler has no chance,
Wanna know how i got these scars? My father was...a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual.Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that.Not.One.Bit.So,me watching,he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it.Turns to me and he says"Why so serious?"Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?"He sticks the blade in my mouth,"Lets put a smile on that face!"And.....Why so serious?

Just to let everyone know, all these casting tips and such about Depp and Hoffman and anyone else...

ITS ALL FAKE. Just rumors that aren't true, gents.

Will Christopher Nolan Do a Third Batman?
Source: The Hollywood Reporter August 27, 2008

While the internet is going crazy with casting rumors that aren't true for Christopher Nolan's possible third Batman movie, the director himself is on vacation as The Dark Knight approaches $500 million domestically.

The Hollywood Reporter has published an interesting article about the film's marketing and the deaths of both Heath Ledger and Conway Wickliffe before the film's release. The piece ends with a bit on the third installment.

And Warners and Legendary are both interested in doing a third in the series, but all involved say it will be up to Nolan to come to them with a story and a plan.

"There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it," Roven says. "But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on."

For now, Nolan is taking a well-earned vacation.

Says Roven, "When he comes back, we will see how he feels."

We will be waiting patiently...

EDIT: And its already been confirmed that those two are not going to be in the third movie. First off, Riddler is WAY TOO similar to The Joker. He would be absolutely the WORST choice for the third movie. And they already said they didn't want the Penguin because he was just too outlandish and cheesy.

What is it in the dark knight that hints about the 3rd film?

did any of you guys pay attention to the HUSH character that hit comics a few years ago??

i think he would definatly fit the vibe of the new films
Quote:

Dr. Thomas Elliot was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne. Like Bruce Wayne, Elliot was born into a wealthy family. Unlike Wayne, however, Elliot hated his parents. Driven by his desire for independence and wealth, he cut the brakes on his parents' car, causing a crash that killed his father. His mother was saved in an emergency operation by Dr. Thomas Wayne, which enraged young Elliot. While at a summer camp with Bruce, Tommy attacked a boy and ended up in a psych ward. He irrationally blamed Bruce and Martha Wayne for his outburst, but he was soon released from the psych ward by an intern named Jonathan Crane. His anger was fueled further by the subsequent murder of the Waynes, which put Bruce Wayne in just the situation Elliot had hoped to create for himself. Elliot's mother later succumbed to cancer, leaving him with the family fortune. Although he went on to Harvard and became a successful surgeon, Elliot continued to hold an irrational grudge towards his childhood friend.

At some point in his career, Elliot became the doctor of Edward Nigma (also known as the Riddler). Nigma, diagnosed with terminal cancer, eventually hijacked one of Ra's al Ghul's Lazarus pits to regain his health. During this mystical treatment, which renders the participant temporarily insane, the highly intelligent Nigma experienced an unexpected epiphany, realizing that Bruce Wayne was Batman. After discovering that they had a common hatred for Wayne, Elliot and the Riddler decided to pool resources to bring him down. To this end, Elliot created for himself the persona of Hush.

and guess who the mastermind behind that whole incident was?

batman+jonny depp=blockbuster

even tho a hush riddler story would have to be really diffent then what went down in the comics, i think they could make it work,

dr. eliot the brain suergon hates bruce since childhood, saves ed nigma (the riddler) from brain cancer (leave out the whole lazars pit part) who hates batman since hes some kind of crazy (maybe explained by the brain issue?), they discovcover the connection between batman and bruce and join forces. bandage up face reminds bruce of harvey and so you'll have a whole psychological thing going on there too not to mention the guy being a childhood friend in disguise

That story of Hush is good, but I think there would some problems with that carrying over to this movie. That is quite a big plot, they would have to go back and explain the childhood friendship and all that jazz you just explained. While at the same time they have to continue with how The Dark Knight ended, with Batman pretty much becoming the cities outlaw. I doubt they could fit the two into the same movie. The next movie's focus should add a lot in terms of him being out casted and wanted by the city.

well i dont expect either one of those characters or that story arc to really go word for word with the events of the comic. its not like these movies have been strictly based on specific material anyway.

im sure who ever the bad guys are the main plot is going to be them working against batman as the "good guys" in the eyes of the citizens anyway but theyre still going to need some costume villins to carry the story in some way. hush has a really strong connection to bruce which will add a very intresting element and he's also a more realistic character that could definatly exist in noland's universe. and an obsessive mastermind like the riddler who's maybe pulling eliot's strings as well could be the "pure incarnation" of evil that the movie needs. the good of batman needs to be balanced with some kind of actual evil element. a misguided childhood friend or going against the police and "society" its self isnt quite enough
