Today I went to a theme park. Canada's wonderland. I went on the biggest roller coaster in canada. It's new new new this year. I have already been on it anyway I loved it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ9u6JHYmnM&feature=related I took my sister on this...she freaked out. Ended up loving it. Anyway this was the second or third time I went. The first time was when it was super new like hardly anyone had been on it. Its been open a few months now. Anyway The first time I went on it I was in the very front! It was sick! So I have only ever been to a theme park 4 times in my life. All the same one! Thats once when I was a kid and I dont remember. 2 years ago and twice this year. How do you feel about them? What kinds of rides do you like? Is there anything you wouldn't go on? My friend last time had a hard day he didnt let us know until after that he didnt like roller coasters. Anyway he was like sitting up and rocking side to side in his sleep for like a week. He just didn't wanna seem like the odd one out. Anyway He freaked out at me. Saying it was all my fault. Man theme parks can bring the worst out in a person, I guess I just challenged his manhood too much... |

LOL I love theme parks. I go to sixflags the most (most unclean place on earth (anyone seen the great wall of gum)) I was forced to go to disney this year (I got a pic of me in mickey ears which I'll post sometime)I go to them all the time. I really only got on rollercoasters and no spinny rides (unless I want to see my lunch) |

Yeah, been to a few. I was at Disney World (and generally around Orlando) when I was about 6 back in 1995, so I guess that's my first kind of experience. Been to Alton Towers and Drayton Manor (both in England) numerous times each. I'm not as confident with rides as I used to be. I won't go on anything that has you looking down or hanging upside-down or whatever, although I did go on a ride called Oblivion (Youtube it) at Alton Towers 4 times in one day once, lol, that was mental. But yeah I'm not so comfortable with them now as I was when I was younger... 15 or so. |

Heh, I'm only 19. ;P But to be honest that kind of thing doesn't excite me, it just... scares me really. I've faced the prospect of death numerous times when I was younger and once you experience that fear for real I can't enjoy the sensation (had a few run-ins with chavs with knives in my area ¬_¬). |

How do you feel about them? I love theme parks, I've been to Disney World Florida and Paris. Six Flags. Ah there's a few more major ones I've been to. What kinds of rides do you like? Rollarcoasters, big splash rides, backwards. Ah really everything Is there anything you wouldn't go on? Don't think so, I love trying crazy and new things. |

Yup.

I fucking LOVE theme parks. Mainly coasters, though. We have some of the best roller coasters down here in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I have to go at least once a year, or I feel like I'm missing out. Hands down, the greatest roller coaster is X2. The first drop is practically vertical, and you don't see it coming because you go up the incline backwards, but then the seats rotate and then all of a sudden you're facing the ground and going straight towards it, it seems. Gah it's so hard to explain, but it's soooo fucking awesome. |

I've done most of the various parks over here (in the UK) since I was quite young, including all the ones for little kids, as that's what I was back then. ![]() Namely Paultons, Chessington, Thorpe & Alton.... I think those are the main ones that I know of. Recently went to Alton with a friend and as his sister (and her boyfriend) had disabled passes we all got bands for our wrists which let us go straight to the front of the queue for all rides. So no 2 hour waiting for Nemesis and stuff... we got straight on! So we did everything in the park in a day, which I can guarantee you, a normal group would never have achieved. It was a great day out and I can't wait to go again.

Hello Mate!
|
Well, I've been to Disneyland Paris once but the only other themeparks I've been to is Legoland and Chessington. There is one nearby from me called Thrope Park, as krypton_Is said, but I still haven't been there yet. To be honest, I'm not that keen on big rides. I mean, I'll probably love it but I want to go on one without been forced by my mates. That's just one thing I hate about going to parks with big rides. But with Legoland, there weren't any big rides there. None at all. Aaron

I've been to quite a few. In England, Chessington (one huge Theme Park about Chess.....no not really), Thorpe Park (probably the biggest one in England), Legoland and Alton Towers. I usually go to a Theme Park or two when I go on holiday like in Austrailia I went to Dreamworld and Warner Bros World. And I've been to Disneyland Paris about 4 times. I really love theme parks. I usually make it a habit to go in the winter though becuase thats when the queues are managable. If I had to pick my favorite Theme Park it would probably be Disneyland, its such a happy place! I'm fortunate to have Cedar Point about 45 minutes away from me. The Millenium Force is the greatest coaster ever. The Top Thrill Dragster and their new one, the Maverick, are buckwild, too. There was another good park that was also about 45 minutes away called Geauga Lake that was a big part of my childhood. It was next to a small lake, obviously, and on the other side of the lake there was a Sea World. Around 2000, Six Flags bought both the properties and for a couple of years we had Six Flags Ohio. That was a lot of fun, because they still kept the setup of rides on one side of the lake and animals and shows on the other. They basically just built a bridge across the lake and opened up a walkway/tram route around it. I went to Great Adventure in Jersey once during that time, because we had a season pass for Six Flags Ohio that you could use at any park in the country. Other than that, I've been to Disneyworld and Disneyland once each, and they're both awesome. I've also been to some cheap old-school parks like Idlewild in western Pennsylvania. |

ABSOLUTELY BANG
|
Been to plenty, but generally on holiday - there aren't any near me so the closest is probably Alton Towers (about 6 hours) and that's the one I've been to the most. At the end of June there was a trip there for all the sixth year, which was awesome; it's so much more fun when you're going round the park with all your mates. Been to plenty more on the continent when I was younger... Disneyland Paris, Parc Asterix, the Legoland in Denmark, Fantasialand... great stuff. There aren't any in Scotland though; it's rubbish. |

Missed that one from my list - my nan used to live reasonably nearby, so when I used to visit when I was much younger we'd go every summer for a few years. Also as some have said, there's both Disneyland in Orlando and Paris which I recall from my youth.

I am the night!

Drayton Manor is pretty close (an hour, two if I'm being lazy) from where I live so me and a few friends visit it every few months and have a great laugh. Stormforce 10 is the most enjoyable water ride I've ever been on. I could go on it a bllion times and I'd still enjoy it as much as the first time. I'm not really one for rollercoasters. There's something about being upside down that really doesn't sit right with me, it's just unnatural. But when I am cajoled into going on one I always enjoy them, but still, the idea freaks me out. My perfect nightmare is being on a rollercoaster and it breaking down halfway through a loop-the-loop. |

I sort of have that fear too. I know it won't happen and that they're only like a minute long for each ride, but it sort of sits with me when I'm on. Thankfully on Top Gun, I can always do wacky faces in front of the camera and look back at them after the ride to remind myself of the fun adrenaline rush.

I only like theme parks long after they are abandoned. The feel. It's so dead, yet to know it was once so full of life and cheerful, filled with children. I fucking love it. You've got no idea. It's like sex with a corpse. |

Wooo funny I should find this thread because me and a few mates are going to Alton Towers tomorrow, blatantly the best theme park in the world Check out some of the videos. Oblivion, best ever! Air, makes you feel like your flying. Rita, 0-100mph in 2.5sec, instant face lift. All these rides are awesome but the best is called NEMESIS, its been at Alton Towers since 1994 but its still the best ride i've ever been on, and I've been to european and north american theme parks and nothing comes close. Alton Towers FTW
