I was thinking about how no character in the history of gaming will ever match that of Solid/Old Snake and would like to know who everone else would prefer as the new protagonist of MGS5 if made! I for one would love a clone of Solid Snake, and to use David Hayter once more! Cheers |

-solid snake's story has been wrapped up in 4,his story is done,ryan payton also confirmed this in 1 or 2 different interviews - why clone a clone?especially when he's got less then a year left to live??besides people will hate that -there shouldn't be any more bb clones,we've had plenty already,2 of them almost took control of the world -raiden would be the best choice since he was like an apprentice to snake,but a new character in a different story would be good |

I really doubt there is going to be a Metal Gear Solid 5 all together. There has been so much emphasis on this being the final chapter of the Metal Gear Saga, why turn and continue after all has been said and done? I know someone said Kojima was thinking about continuing MGS in the distant future, but he also said if there was a high enough approval of MPO that MPO2 would be in the works and I haven't seen that either, so my honest answer is the answer not on the poles, "There probably won't be an MGS5." |

Solid Snake himself? Fuck no. Kojima himself said that Snake's story is done; finished; with nothing more to tell. So yeah - not happening, amigo. Clone of Solid Snake? You... do realise that a clone of Solid Snake is gonna age even more rappidly, right? ...So much so that the entire experiment is kinda daft. I mean, because Solid Snake was cloned from Big Boss in his late 30's, Snake's cells at birth were effectively the same age as Big Boss'. So, in the case of MGS4 - whilst he may only be 42, his cells are already in their late 70's to early 80's. Given this, a clone of Solid Snake is a rather fucked and flawed idea from the get-go. Also, you must take into consideration that the whole 'clone thing' was to merely convey a certain message in the game. However, the message has already been told, and does not require retelling. Therefore, the entire point of having a clone as the main character is gone... and the sole reason becomes 'cause it's cool' - which, it actually wouldn't be, because it's been done and that would be repetitive as hell, thus not cool. All in all, a clone of Solid Snake isn't the most logical choice of character when we look at basic facts and realities that the game is supposed to live up to, as well as storytelling concepts. That's definitely the most logical of the options you put forward in this topic. ...However, whilst I say that, there are still many other characters whom we already know that could be easily used. Raiden, would be a great choice but then again I thought he just retired? But if they did use him, I would like them to do a follow up on the rest of Solid Snakes days, maybe have a funeral or something. |

Raiden would be a good choice for a main charater or a new main character altogether. But I doubt there will even be a Metal Gear Solid 5 because the story was wrapped in #4 which saddens me greatly.

I'd say a new character... It hurts to say goodbye to Snake and Big Boss, but it would be better to introduce a new main character to the story (NOT Raiden again please). |

I like Raiden (not really Cyborg-ninja Raiden though), but i don't see any way how we would get another MG game with him as lead. He is back in his body and has a family now;i don't see Kojima destroying that. |

I'm pretty sure there will be a MGS5. or MG5 if you will. Solid Snake? nah. he's more or less dead. clone of Solid Snake? would be stupid, but I guess it could work. clone of Big Boss? erhm... I hope not. but who knows =P new character? yes please. and as for Raiden... um. wut. he has a family and a happy future and all, no need to sacrifice his life again, right? same goes for his son. and Sunny... I dunno. I guess she could be the 'new Otacon', but... we'll see.

why does it have to be one of the avobe mentioned characters? why can't Hideo Kojima make another prequel somewhere between portable ops and the first Metal Gear(so you can use either snake or big boss). Better yet, a remake of the very first Metal Gear. and no, please no new characters, i rather play a game where you have to use meryl, or even otacon, how about sunny? or raiden's son huh? maybe both, kind of Resident Evil 0, where you are able to swap characters, maybe sunny and little john will get married. |

snake was only like 23 in mg when he first became part of foxhound,doubt there's much of anything important right before that mission unless it's from bb's perspective -playing as meryl,absolutely not -otacon isn't a fighter,he's the geeky hacker guy,i doubt he even knows how to reload a gun -the re0 thing sounds terrible,i could be trying to sneak around somewhere and the other character just runs out in the open and gets spotted,or i have to manually get both of them across a certain area one at a time,i don't think so |

hmm, i don't know if you are aware of certain Metal Gear game that was released a year ago, its called Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, in which you were actually able to switch from one character to another (up to 4 characters in one game) you had to find a spot where you could hide inside a box, so the other guy could come out of the truck/box. and i wouldn't mind playing as meryl, i'm not racist. |

yeah,that should stay in mpo,we don't need it in any other mgs,you mentioned the one from re0 in which both people followed each other around and you had to tell the other to stay put if you wanted to move on your own how is not wanting to play as meryl racist,don't you mean sexiest? she was a bitch in mgs4 and annoying as hell,she thinks she's the fucking shit and everyone else is nothing compared to her |
