i was just watching a cutscene with johnny sasaki in it without with mask on or whatever it is, and i noticed he looks alot like a younger snake. then i started thinking about how johnny was a genome soldier. at least im pretty sure he is because as far as i know all of the gaurds in metal gear solid 1 were genomes and he was one of them. so doesnt that mean hes basically another clone of big boss? or at least has some of big boss's genes are inside of him? which would explain his similar appearance towards snake. or it could just be a complete coincidence. idk give me your thoughts on this? if its true he could possibly be the next protagonist. that might also explain meryls attraction to johnny =) |

its possible that he looks a bit like big boss, cuz they gave him digital genes after his birth or so....but i doubt there will be a mgs5 anyways xD |

no im not saying theres going to be a metal gear "solid" 5 because that would imply another game with solid snake, and konami confirmed to be done with that character but said that they still plan on continuing the metal gear series. which means a new character. i doubt it will be johnny but im just throwin my ideas out there, because if you think about they really did just greatly increase johnnys role for no reason lol. and he proved to be a capable soldier (even without nanomachines) in the scene where he proposes to meryl |

i wasnt sure if they were connected either until johnny said something along the lines of this to meryl, "Ive loved you ever since i met you at shadow moses" which is where metal gear solid 1 took place, which is where johnny was a genome soldier which im guessing means its been the same johnny all along. Johnny has nothing to do with Big Boss genetically. Genome soldiers were genetically enhanced, but not by Big Boss's genes. And i doubt that Johnny was in fact actually a genome soldier. MGS4 spoiler if you have not reached Act 5 or completed game. Spoiler: click to toggle

Johnny "Akiba", can't be the next protagonist. He started out as the clown of the series, a fart joke. You can't turn a fart joke into the new series playable character. Its offensive to the man who came before him. |

Like Meryl, Johnny could have possibly been a 'normal' soldier on base who simply chose to go along with the FOXHOUND rebellion. The official novelization of the game confirms that he was a technician there, but the canonicity of the novel is in doubt. Johnny was not a Genome at any rate, but he strangely did have nanomachines back then, but that is easily dismissed considering Kojima made it up as he went along. |

He's still a joke to me, no matter what he did in MGS4. Which I think was rediculous plotwise. 
Not exactly. True, Hideo Kojima left KCEJ where he was Vice President. Though, he's now/still the head of Kojima Productions and creator of the series. I'm very sure that he will always have a say in what happens. Edited by BosaBoss, Aug 10 2008, 08:38 AM.
