This is always something that bugged me about the MGS series. The time line never seemed to add up. At the end of MGS3 they tell you that solid and liquid were born/created in 1978 or 79, somewhere around there. Now I was a little kid when Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 were released so I don't know those stories very well, but as we all know MGS2, the tanker episode came 2 years after Shadow Moses, then the Big Shell was two years after the Tanker. At the end of MGS2 in the cut scenes before you fight Solidus at the end, he tells you "our first president was inaugurated here 200 years ago." If anyone paid attention in history class, or took the time to look it up, that was in 1789, so that means that MGS2, the Big Shell took place in 1989. MGS4 takes place 5 years after the Big Shell, so that would make it 1994. I don't know what I'm really trying to get at, I just think most people don't realize that the time line is off, MGS4 is supposed to be in the "not to far distant future" or however they word it, but 1994 isn't really the future. I remember I started kindergarten that year and there weren't any suits that changed to blend in with the surroundings, and no little robots that could shock people making them drop their weapons. I love the games, I really have become emotionally attached to the characters, (Meryl is sooooo hot in MGS4) that it's hard to diss on the games at all, but I've always wanted to tell other people who actually care about the story and the games.

mgs=2005 mgs2=2007 tanker 2009 plant mgs3=1964 mgs4=2014 i don't quite remember the time the 1st 2 mg games took place though |
