Does anyone else have trouble taking screenshots from things like MKV Media Player or Windows Media Player? |

Yeah I think it's you're running the application in full screen it won't take an accurate screenshot of the video that was playing or whatever. I have tried a number of things such as not running said content in full screen and then attempted to get a screen print, but still to no avail. What I eventually found out, that for WMP, you can get a screen print but you need to tweak the following setting: - Open WMP - Go to Tools -> Options - Select the Performance tab - At the bottom of the window, drag the Video Acceleration slider to either the middle or far left side, and then hit Apply and Ok it. - Restart your video and the next time you hit the screen print button it will work. Just remember to put the setting back when you're done, as it may hamper the video quality for future files you view. |

Do you mean when you try to screenshot a movie and you just get a black box instead of the picture, its inbuilt copy protection on the media you are running, its on most DVDs. |

Yeah my method will work fine... or DB's suggestion to use another media player is just as valid - it's all down to personal preference.

WMP Classic and I think VLC have the option to export a screenshot rather than having to screenshot and then open up MS paint. |

It's just a normal screenshot, not a capture of a video player, but just the desktop, webpage etc.. I can't take screenshots at all for some reason.. Never had a problem like this before. Any ideas? |

How are you trying to take them, the usual way is PrintScreen button, which will only copy the screenshot to your clipboard, you will need to paste it somewhere. |

Trust me I know, the command will not capture the screen. I also noticed black picture when recording video through a recording application.. maybe it's related. Maybe corporate built pc is shit. It also gives me a problem with terrabyte external HD but detects smaller drives no prob. I think Dell are pulling shit, because this should all be cake to do on XP home edition sp2. I think the pc has down syndrome. I want to do screenshots to save txt files as jpegs so i can view notes on my psp. |
