Metal Gear REX looks like a nuclear weapon that poses serious danger, RAY just looks like a walking robot, IMO..

As to which is better, I think it's pretty subjective and down to popular opinion. The only way to find out for sure would be to actually build a REX and a RAY, put in two pilots of equal ability, and let them fight it out. MGS2 spoiler! Spoiler: click to toggle But I agree that those mass-produced RAYs are shit compared to the original, but it's also possible that they were weaker for gameplay reasons. Consider if each one was as difficult to defeat as REX was, then place three of them in a single battle and see how things turn out. Raiden would have been a grease stain after the battle (not that that's a bad thing, but this thread isn't about him). Also...whoo! 600th post! Edited by Solid Spartan, Aug 25 2008, 07:49 AM.

I can't remember the full details, but he said something about when they were designing, the thing they feared the most was when REX was close to it's target. Otacon and the team designed a fighting system for REX for close quarters, but it was abandoned soon after. Otacon says that he implemented the system anyway, and he's activated it. It made REX as fast and as agile as RAY. Perfect fight for a perfect game

Less agile, but more bulky. REX is like a massive muscly person, whilst RAY is like a skinny martial artist lolz. Metal Gear Solid	I personally do not like Ray, its main purpose was to destroy all the Rex's that people made, thanks to Ocelot, and then later in MGS2 to protect Arsenal, I don't even think it can fire nukes, though I might be mistaken. Please keep in mind that I've only beaten MGS 1 and 2, so I dont know what Ray is like in MGS4. Considering the knowlege I have, about the only plus Ray has over Rex is that it can swim, big woop. Rex is the best.
