Uh... so am I the only one not thrilled by this? I mean, I still haven't even bothered to see the third one. Do they really need to make a fourth?

I mean, Spiderman, great guy and all, but... *shrugs*

Ewww. The movies aren't the place for serials, Hollywood. QUIT IT.

That's what the TV is for.

Nine movies?! Nine movies?! Why? Why could they POSSIBLY need nine Spiderman movies? It can't be for profit- the spiderman series isn't popular enough to be worth producing nine damn movies. People will lose interest too quick.

Oh my lord. While I agree on many levels that there shouldn't be another sequel (I'm up for a re-boot though), how can you possibly say that Spider-Man isn't popular enough? He's Marvel's flagship superhero and his comics are generally Marvel's best sellers.

Fact is Spider-Man sells. Spiderman 3 had the highest grossing box office of all time until very recently (The Dark Knight beat it) and the first two films are generally seen as the pinnacle of brilliance when it comes to comic book movies (though sadly not by me, I hate the Raimi films, except for Wilem DaFoe and Alfred Molina's performances). While 9 would seem rather excessive, Spider-Man has the popularity (and the supervillains) to make a billion movies.

As for Spider-Man 4. If Tobey Maguire isn't in it and Sam Raimi isn't directing/writing, I'll consider it.

Yea I would agree. He’s one of the reasons why I picked up a comic book. But I have yet got into a Spiderman movie. I've watched all three and third was a failure after I thought it was going to be great.

loves you

I saw the second one and wasn't thrilled by it, the action scenes were good...I guess, that's about it, I'll be saving my money, Spiderman is overrated, the movies even more so, Tobey Maguire sucks balls, the more movies they make the further away they'll drift from the original story, can anyone give me a reason why I should go see this?

It's not popular enough for nine movies tho, for crissake. Nine movies is ridiculous, like, "Mothra VS Godzilla!" "Giant Brain from Outerspace VS Godzilla!" stuff. Rehashings of the same old plot again and again... I mean, I'd love to be presently surprised, but I really just doubt it can turn out well.

Well they do have pleny of villians left.

Carnage
Lizard
Rhino
Hobgoblin
Jackal
Mysterio
Shocker
Electro
Scorpion
Scricer
Judas Traveller
Prowler(please put him in #4!)

just to name a few.

On a different note i saw something on wiki that might lift our sprits. Especiall if your a Venom fan

Wiki

Venom
In July 2007, Avi Arad revealed a Venom spin-off was in the works.[51] The studio commissioned Jacob Aaron Estes to write a script, but rejected it the following year. Sony announced that in addition to a new director and writer, they wanted to replace Topher Grace in the lead, as they felt he was unable to "carry" a blockbuster.[52]

Topher got owned man. Anyways i felt he sucked in the Venom role also. For Venom they needed a muscular guy to play him. I heard that the New Goblin was another name for the HobGoblin. I have a feeling they are going to use the Lizard in the 4th one. I would like to see Carnage, The Lizard, and Kraven, and maybe Scorpion

Meh, what?

What about The Kingpin?!
Or is that more Daredevil..hmm..

Anyhow, Spiderman 4? I might consider watching it if they take Tobey Maquire OUT. He is NOT Spiderman, he's just.. GAH, NO! Tobey Maquire CANNOT be Spiderman, AGAIN.

If i see it, i was always wondering how they will start it. In 1,2,3 Peter is introducing. Will they do the same for #4?
Anyway i would be less into it if Toby isn't playing the part of Peter.

It doesn't matter what you think!

Alright, Venom was gay in Spidy 3 they need to bring him back and do him some justice. There's still a piece of the symbiote in Conners lab, they should just make that go to Carnage or whatever.

Ok let's say that the symbiote stopped Eddie Brock from dying and don't say thats gay cos' if u watch the Spidy 3 commentary on the dvd, one of the producers say thats a possibility. And she indirectly said that, cos' she knows they fucked Venom up hard.

As for other villains, Lizard is the most obvious emotional route to go, what I love about the Spiderman movies is that all the villains have a kind of personal relationship with Peter and thus makes the story deeper. Conners being in all three films is already an established character and should definitely be the next villain.

And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President.....Oh wait.

and of course with that little bit of the symbiote we could have Venom's son Carnage and as you said Lizard. Venom can't be dead yet. He just can't!

Those'll probably be #4. what about Sandman though? he's still out there but has had a change of heart I think. Other then that I would like Prowler because he looks so awesome.
