Ewww. The movies aren't the place for serials, Hollywood. QUIT IT.

That's what the TV is for.

Nine movies?! Nine movies?! Why? Why could they POSSIBLY need nine Spiderman movies? It can't be for profit- the spiderman series isn't popular enough to be worth producing nine damn movies. People will lose interest too quick.
That's what they said about James Bond during the release of 1969's on her majesty's secret service and guess what? On october 31st we'll be getting the 21st James Bond movie.

Twenty one to be exact, but for some reason people like stories about a lame British dude who buys his outfits from Savile Row, runs around playing with his dumb gadgets, and blatantly has more STDs than they can diagnose. The fact is, Spiderman just doesn't make a very good movie, and unless they get rid of Tobey Cocksucker and start over, there's no point making more, because they're just going to be horrible.

I don't understand why so many people says that Spiderman 3 sucked. The only movie to ever make more money is The Dark Knight.

Gah, they should have left it at 3... 3 is a nice round number in movie terms. But, like a cow they're going to milk it until it runs dry. Which is a shame, there's only so many times I can hear Mary Jane scream... I was a BIG Spidey fan growing up and I loved the first film... second was alright and so was the third *although I felt as though they tried to fit too much into that film*. Cringe thinking about the future films though. :(

Meh, what?

Notice, at the end of every film, Mary Jane is the damsell in the distress.
1 was cool, 2 was alright, 3 was.. yuck.
If they make a 4, with that son of a bitc-.. gun, Tobey Maguire, I will die.

Totally agree. Especially with the Summer blockbusters, which are mostly crammed with as much CGI effects they can fit into about 2 hours. :X:

And I don't think it has much left to offer either. They're obviously planning on bringing in the Lizard, but PLEASE not another damsel in distress situation. I was hoping that they'd kill off MJ in the 3rd one, and leave it at that... since they swapped the roles of Gwen and MJ for the movies, maybe MJ could have fallen off the top of the bridge... Spidey tried to save her but she'd already died from a heartattack because of the fall.

You guys do know that the new Spiderman movies that are coming out are totally new? Meaning no Tobey, thank god for that.

I remember watching the first Spiderman movie a few years ago. I was with a friend, and had just bought a Spidey action figure and after that me and my friend immediately went to the cinema. At that time I was a big Spiderman fan (and deep inside I still am) so I was very excited. I loved the first movie, and I liked the second one too. My favorite Spidey game is probably 2, I loved that game. Anyway, when I heard the news about a third one, and seeing the first picture, (It was the symbiote Spiderman standing on the church) I was very excited - again. Too bad at that time that I had to wait a year to see it. As time went on more and more info over the movie was known, I very much looked forward to Venom, I wasn't so sure on the guy who was supposed to play him (Topher ''Eric Forman'' Grace from That 70's Show) I mean, two of the biggest nerds in one movie? Anyway, when the movie was released I went to see it. I must admit, I was very disappointed with a lot of stuff, but I still liked it. The only reason I liked it was cause of the fights, and special effects, probably.

The rest was just... gross. I mean, they totally fucked up the story, they totally fucked up Venom's voice, and at the Peter Parker being a ''bad boy''... I just couldn't stand that. I mean, every superhero movie has some jokes, but were they trying to make a comedy with this? Him acting like that thanks to the suit was ridicilous, I hated it. The story was insanely retarded, couldn't they really think of anything else for Sandman? Don't get me started on the ending... I can honestly say that Spiderman 3 wasn't a good movie, and it's a shame.

However, I have high hopes for the new movies, since I heard everything in them is new. They are totally going to ignore Sam Raimi's ones, good to hear.

As for the Spiderman franchise not being popular enough for 9 movies? I say Bullshit to that. Whoever said it wasn't, care to explain how The Dark Knight was the only movie to beat Spiderman 3's box office? Spiderman is probably the most famous and popular hero of Marvel, I can honestly say that's a fact. So yeah, it is popular enough to have 9 movies.

Amen to that.
I agree, 100% with that.

And they're new movies? Wow, I didn't know that. Thank the lord for that.

For me it was the constant butchering of characters that I've been reading for 15 years, the focus on Peter Parker's love life rather than his crime fighting, that ridiculous tie betwen Sandman and Uncle Ben, Sandman being an whiney anti-hero, same with Eddie Brock, that ridiculous jazz part, the inclusion of Gwen Stacy one film too late, Mary Jane being a damsel in distress again, the way Venom was defeated, the Green Goblin V2 and the 'performance' of Tobey Maguire.

And TDK hasn't made the most money in movie history, it just made the most in it's opening weekend and the following week, the film with highest amount of money made is still the shit-fest that is Titanic (which to be frank, I'd rather sit through than watch S3 again)

It doesn't matter what you think!

:D It really doesn't bother me that Toby is Peter Parker, I don't think he's that bad but I don't think he's great either. I didn't like Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane, she used to piss me off, she's not even hot.

@..Liquid.. Well I guess that goes against everything you said dude lol. Lets just hope they do a better job with this than they did with 3.

I liked 3 but what I disliked was Venom being Topher Grace, him only being in the film for 5 minutes, him dying so fucking quick and Sandman surviving? WTF? Sandman having to have story tie ins with Uncle Ben that's not in the original source material, Peter acting like a fucking queer with the black suit, Peter not fighting enough in the black suit, dude was just doing gay dances.

I hope they bring Venom back and do him justice, I don't care if there making a Venom movie spin off. He's the most popular villain in the spidyverse and they butchered him.

And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President.....Oh wait.

I just said that I thought that they were going to make a totally new one, I only said it twice. I'm even starting to wonder if you read my post.

And to respond to this news.

Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire is close to agreeing a deal to return for two more films in the comic book franchise, according to reports.

See? I remember Tobey Maguire saying he didn't want to be Spiderman anymore, you could notice that in the third movie because his acting was horrible.

I'm branding a rumor on this one, I'm just gonna wait till something that's actually official comes out about him being Spiderman. I still have my doubts about this, we'll see.

Yeah, I remember this too. But maybe something new hasn't come around for him and it's an easy option... *sigh*. BBC news is usually pretty good, but I'll take your advice and wait for something official too.

Don't they have to if they're going to make Carnage? even if they don't I doubt Venom is dead. :innocent:
