Most of you probably prefer the MGS4 Raiden like i do.
He just sounds more grown.
In MGS2 he's like a teen.

Raiden looked and acted better in MGS4.

There is not contest to this, who prefers the voice of a whiny girl to a badass dude. Especially if the character is supposed to be a dude.

Obviously number 4. That was the game when he became a man.

As whiny and annoying Raiden was in MGS2, I prefered him much better (voice an' all) in MGS2. He was a deep character unlike any other. Raiden character turned into a common emo ninja with a sword, its been done FAR to many times for me to be interested in it. Raiden MGS2 was unique.

Raiden was way cooler in MGS4 than in MGS2.

Campbell does have a point. But I think Raiden in 4 was the best (especially the voice), and he had his moments of drama, which made his character more profound.

I Caught Myself.

I'll have to agree with Roy Campbell.
In MGS4 he was made a cyborg-ninja who could do pretty much anything you ask. He never became that person, he was just given that personality after a lot of his real personality changed and disappeared.

You and Roy Campbell has a point as to Raiden in mgs2 was normal and himself but i still think that Raiden in mgs4's voice was better.

Although MGS4 Raiden was 'cooler', Campbell made me think... MGS2 Raiden was unique, Kojima had balls (or stupidity, whatever your view) to put such a different character into the series. But MGS4 Raiden has slipped into the 'norm'. Quinton Flynn did a good job on both voices; MGS2 he sounded young and new, which Raiden was at the time... but with the more experience his voice became more rough as it showed in MGS4.
But MGS4 Raiden did gave me great visuals for my television...

MGS4 Raiden, its more like my voice because its deeper and a little raspier, and he sounds awesome.

His voice had more feeling in MGS2, in MGS4 he was (of course) more of a machine.
I liked Raiden with feelings.

Has to be MGS4 voice, the voice of mgs2 was far too whiney and 'back-chatty'.

MGS2, he was more....normal seeming. Didn't have to try and distort his voice so much. He wasn't all played up TO be really badass. Nobody even knew about him.
For some reason this has become a popularity contest in terms of his character, not the voice in question. In MGS4, he was made to seem all "badassish." When Raiden was first introduced people were all "i HaTeZ dIs GuYz, He Iz TeH fAgZoRz" and alot (not all, mind you) "fans" hated him. However, I believe that Kojima did it purposefully to make him more appealable to the fans. Now it's "ZOMFGROFL-caust, RaIdEn Iz TeH aWeSoMe. WhY dO kOjImA mAkE hIm TeH uNpLaYzOrZ?"

His voice in 4 is more synthetic and badass. Not the whingy one. No contest here, and the poll shows it.

Don't tread on me.

I couldn't really stand his voice in Sons of Liberty, characterization issues aside. In Guns of the Patriots I found him much more tolerable, vocally.

It's Soccer not Football :P

what contributed also was his look, he did look badass in 4, wearing a tight suit made raiden look real gay in mgs2.
Yeah there is the whiny bit also,
I guess Kojima wanted to show he has matured and deserved what he got in the end.

Outer Heaven.We'll need one soon.

Well I like his MGS4 voice better but I did like his character in MGS2 more because he seemed real and the only thing I did not like was that Kojima made him a ninja character which we have seen twice before and it just seems old now.Why couldnt he just had made him a more experienced and seasoned fighter in part 4 kinda like how Snake was in MGS2.But I still like him in 4.

Raiden was extremly annoying in MGS2. how he acted, how he talked, really annoying. as much as I hated him at first he was, as previously said, still unique and was a real character.
in MGS4 this was all destroyed because so many people disliked the character, and turned him into some stupid crying ninja with a whispering voice with no depth at all. its as if it wasnt even raiden anymore.
and his voice WAS more annoying in MGS2, I admit that, but at least it sounded real. the one in MGS4 is just stupid, I laughed several times when he spoke =P
