There was nothing mentioned about him in the games after MGS PO but you might have to check a timeline or wiki him. |

Sokolov's story is ambiguous. We know he was left for dead when Volgin beat him half to death, then Gene rescued him and used him to create RAXA in exchange for being reunited with his family. Sokolov was 65 in Snake Eater according to the sites, meaning he'd be 69 in Portable Ops. 69 + 50 = 119 = he's dead. His story didn't really need any more explaining, he's moved on and was reunited with his family courtesy of Gene, odds are he didn't join Snake in Foxhound. |

TD- i realise that by MGS4 he is dead, but someone with such knowledge of MG's and other nuclear things cant just be left at rest, he is like dr. madnar. anyways, maybe there was a possibility that he will be explained if there truly will be another psp cannon game |

No sign of him, i'm afraid. He is on the database until after MGS:PO where he disappears into oblivion. I don't really see the need for his story to be expanded. He most likely lived with his family until his death. He didn't want to create any metal gears, and no one else will have bothered him. Zero wouldn't have, and I don't see Big Boss doing so either. |

I actually doubt he lived a happy life.But my assumption is that he was taken back to America and stood with his family for a while then the government might have moved them to another country just so they would be safe.But I dont think he would be happy ever even if he is with his family because for the rest of his life he would probably be scared that someone would take him to make another weapon or take his family and force him to work or something but thats just what i think. |

That, plus he's only the inventor of Shagohod. He's not the creator of the titular Metal Gear, and remember Drago Pettrovich-Madnar, who invented the original Metal Gear. No (or very few) references of him are made outside the two MSX games, and I'm sure if Sokolov wasn't such an ambiguously loose end in MGS3 he'd never be mentioned in Portable Ops either. Anyway, continuous references are usually applied to the warriors, the Snakes, Raiden etc. My interpretation before playing MPO is that Sokolov was either dead, or in a Russian Gulag and not going to be mentioned in any future games. Though, Kojima wrote the entire Metal Gear series on the fly, meaning retcons take place left right and centre when a new game is released offering a 'better' explanation of events. For example in the original MSX Metal Gear, artwork is shown with his LEFT eye missing, and he lost it in a fight with Solid Snake. The upshot of this is that after playing Portable ops, the player is forced to look at the torture room scene with a different perspective. Sokolov lives, so we know he survives the 'interrogation'. As for Portable Ops, who was there left alive to create RAXA? Granin was dead, and any other scientist in the US would only be producing prototype models until like years after the events of Portable Ops. So they bring Sokolov out of obscurity to fill in a vacant plot point then discard him like so many used condoms. And, I've noticed a little mistake in your math  1964=Sokolov's 65th. 1970=Sokolov's 71st +50= 121 xD |
