Yeah sure, I'm thinking about that, even that now with this project near to being completed, I can re-use the program events, so it would not take soo much time to create another MGS, the thing that more use of my time is the programming thing...  About the ending, I will keep everything and detail from the original MGS game - and some other things from the Twin Snakes version like hold up and drag the enemies bodies... Nothing less, nothing more. And the two endings from the original version. I intent to keep every aspect from MGS. Oh, and it's possible, I already have the event choice on the torture part

I must say, I belong to a lot of Rpg Maker forums, and this is the best game I have ever seen. It looks really great, almost unbelievable, great job. |

I think you should do Metal Gear Solid 3 next, just because it's better than Metal Gear Solid 2. Great work by the way, seeing everyone make these MGS RPG's is making me want to try, but I don't think I have enough time for a 5-year-project lol, I'll be in college by then.

1. He must have the full co-operation and approval from Konami in order to distribute this cause he's using a copyrighted name, materials from within the game, characters, etc... 2. If it's not going to be a free game he'll face even grater copyright problems because recreating and reselling are off the limits. Either way I am not the one in charge to answer this question properly, accurately and correctly. Simply take what I said in mind. |

As long as he doesn't profit from the game he isn't breaking any laws. There are hundreds of Final Fantasy fanboy games out there (made with the same program) and none of them have faced any copyright penalties. |

They don't face penalties because the companies allow them to exist for promotional reasons. Take a closer look at Konami's 'Terms of Use' at the first term of the 'Prohibited Activities' and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
This also occurs with 'Square Enix'; the production company of all Final Fantasy games. Look at the 'Copyright' section over here. Long story short... If you want to make a remake of a game better take permition from the production company or hope they'll let you publish it if you haven't taken . I hope though this game does get spared because it's worth it. |

Yeah, seriously. If he gets shut down after 5 years of work on what looks to be a f*cking delightful game, I will be VERY upset. If it's anything like music copyright, however, Mr. Rocha shouldn't have any problems. Because, as mentioned above, as long as he's not profiting from his recreation he isn't breaking any laws. Bands record cover songs and post them online all the time. Bands play cover songs live even more often. There is no problem with this, though, because they are not PROFITING. (all caps seems mean, but there were no italics. ;]) The Final Fantasy Fanboy games were a good point, as well. Also, people write fan fictions all the time, making full use of copyrighted characters, and publish them on the internet without a hitch. Having said all that, I'm sure that somewhere there is some rule saying otherwise, but obviously that particular rule is rarely enforced. I say more power to you, Mr. Rocha. The Sons of Big Boss looks like a brilliant game. Keep up the good work. |
