Silent Hill (5 - V): Homecoming was refused classification (RC) for Australia which means that Australian Silent Hill fans will miss the fifth release of this epic game. Importing is always a second option but since the Australian government rated this game 'inappropriate' for the country's residents/gamers it's going to be illegal. Link 1 Link 2 It's a shame and certainly a great loss for the Australian games, especially the hardcore Silent Hill fans. I hope this doesn't happen in Europe. |

Wow, wtf. They let GTA4 release as 15+, and they won't let Silent Hill release at all? Wtf, Silent Hill is classic horror. It's not even that gory, no more so than any other game. I hate idiots like that. |

That is certainly fucked in the head. I dunno if I was gonna buy it or not... but now I know I probably won't unless I do get some kind of import. |

Damn. If I lived in Austraila, I would be pissed right off. I strongly agree with NinjaGirl with the whole 'banning games' business. What is the point? Seriously. Yeah, some games are violent and they're meant to be, that's why the rating system is there, so it stops younger people buying older classed games. (Even though it hasn't stopped me, but hey. )

![]() It makes me both incredibly annoyed and makes me laugh when I hear about games banned. Why? Well because of the huge discrimination there is against games. I mean, they have no problem releasing movies that are a billion times more violent or scary than SH5 (I can't name any, i'm not a horror film fan but i'm sure someone else could name one) yet they are allowed. In fact, it near on impossible for a movie to do something so bad, it will be refused classification yet games get refused at the drop of a hat. Its hypocrisy, ludicrous and damn well wrong. |

That's annoying, but if Silent Hill 4 is anything to go by, we're not really gonna miss anything. I'll just replay the 2nd and 3rd ones in the meantime. |

I personally belevie that video games do affect kids and teens. Take Britain for example, our knife crime and shit like that has rose up loads because of games like GTA and stuff. But on the other hand. ''Think about Pac-man, You dont see our parents running around munching magic pills listeining to repetitive electro music...'' All I can say is that it must be really annoying for you, but hey maybe in the future or something thet mught just decide to release it. |

If videogames affect children, I should be a mass murderer/rapist/baby kicker, because I've been playing the most violent games since I was like 7. But no, I don't even kill bugs because it makes me feel incredibly guilty, and I rarely even insult people. |

Are you sure your not? Not I get what you mean, I meant to put some people are affected. I am not affected (although after playing MGS2, I wanted to go and join the marines.). I think it still depends on your right and wrongs really; I know shooting and stabbing is wrong but if like you playing from an early age might get the idea like its okay or summit (not aimed at you btw lol). |

I dunno I get a big desire to eat fruit after playing pacman. The Australians must have their innocent minds protected from such terrible things. Crime in Britian has been on the rise ever since bloody labour came to power, gta is irrelevant. |

Bwah haha. You're blaming the rise in knife crime on GTA? The majority of the offenders probably haven't played a video game in their life. And besides, the news is worst place to get...the news. The media is so badly bias you should take everything they say with a pinch of salt. One or two cases out of thousands may be the result of GTA (or at least the defendants say so - I see this more like an excuse more than anything) thus its only logical to come to the conclusion GTA has nothing to do with the rise in knife, or any other kind of crime. Correlation does not imply causation. |

No I am not blaming it on GTA. What are you talking about? Like every month or summit (not sure) on the news, there is something on teens being stabbed by other teens (who I highly agree they have played video games) for stupid things like being told to for a laugh. |

But to say the teens stabbed one another as a result of playing games is not only retarded it's just an excuse to be pissed at violence in video games... Hell I've been playing violent games since I was 6 and the only result of that is me wanting to join the army, even then I have never gotten an urge to kill or stab anyone as a result of games... |

I heard about one incedent with manhunt, I supose if your very mentally unstable you may be influenced to replicate the violence in real life. But in all honesty if they're that easily motivated then its probably only a matter of time.
