Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway

This game was released a few days back. My brother got it for his 360, so I've started playing it today. Frankly, I find it quite enjoyable. It's very reminicent of the previous Band of Brothers games, except its combined with Rainbow Six Vegas. The cover system is pure excellence. I've only played the few days later portion and the first mission. I look forward to playing more of Operation Market Garden.

Pro's:
-Matt Baker is back. I found Hartsock a little annoying.
-A cover system. It's damn annoying in FPS games when you have to sit behind cover, shuffle completely out of cover to fire and then get back in cover before your shot. Now you can do it much easier, with most of your body concealed.
-Classic weapons. The M1A1 Thompson just sounds awesome, as well as the MG-42's.
-New setting. It's no longer D-Day. It's moved onto Operation Market Garden in Holland.
-Colonel Robert Sink. I've yet to meet up with him, but he was listed as being in the game in the opening credits. That should be interesting.
-Teamwork. You pretty much have to use your squad members to move through the game. If you don't, you're screwed from all the Germans with MP.40's and MG-42's.

Con's:
-Another World War II game. As much as I am interested in World War II, that war has been gamed to death. I suppose Market Garden hasn't gotten the most attention from WWII game's, so that is a bright side here.
-The M1 doesn't fire as accurate as most games/real life. I can be aiming at a target behind cover and fire and entire 8 round ammo cartridge into him, but miss every time. I don't know whats wrong with the gun, but I can't get it to fire straight.

Does anyone else have this game/ plan on getting this game?

I saw this game in a shop today and had a quick look on the back of the case and it looks really good. Not my type of game really but the graphics look seriously good. ^_^

loves you

I was going to buy this yesterday, I've always found Brothers In Arms a bit more intelligent and tactical than Call Of Duty and Medal Of Honour games so I don't doubt that this one will be excellent. Probably get it in a few days once I've finished Star Wars.

Yeah. Probably the reason I didn't like it when I was younger. But I think I would enjoy it now.

Depression is happiness for the deep, isn't it?

Gonna pick it up for my PC sometime next week...

As for the con of firing the M1, that's how it feels in real combat... I've fired it at a range before and that description you gave sounds reasonable...

working on the graphics... But still swamped with work...

Well I've continued to play this game, and it has definately solidified the Brother's in Arms franchise as the best World War II game I've played. You can actually get to know the characters of the different soldiers in your squads, and it shows the emotions of the soldiers. It lets you see the horrors of war, and what an absolute mindfuck it is to see so many people that were your friends die right in front of you.

It's such an amazing game so far. The visuals are astounding, the gameplay is excellent, and the story is superb. I recommend it. It's better than an MOH or COD World War II game on the market.

Well I saw that spoiler you put (wish i hadn't), but that just convinces me to buy it...

WWWEEEEEE....
*flies off to the nearest Game store*

Side note: i've always hated MOH and COD for not making me feel like a soldier in World War 2, they've always turned you into a sort of super soldier (taking on objectives by yourself) or straying away from history (those SS super soldier introduced near the end of MOH airborne)

working on the graphics... But still swamped with work...

Trust me codemaster, you can't solo Brothers in Arms. You aren't just one soldier out of a bunch of AI soldiers. You are actually commanding your squad. They follow your orders. You set them up at cover, order them who to fire on, and when they should get back to your position. BiA isn't a game that you can just run around the map by yourself (actually, I guess you COULD it would just be hard).

Either way, I've played some more and, whew, it's good stuff.

Read if you've played the game:
