I think what he is trying to say is that Raiden mentions the colonel in mgs4. In mgs2 Raiden wasn't talking to the colonel, it was an AI. It was malfunctioning at the end of the game, he was also not talking to Rose, she was also the AI. |

On the note of this topic, I imagine that the REAL Campbell and Raiden have since met in person after the events of MGS2. But I am still massively confused. When Colonel first introduces Snake to Rosemary on the Codec, Snake says (when he finds out that Rose and Campbell are an 'item'); "What about Jack? From FOXHOUND?" I mean, WTF?! The whole point in MGS2 is that Raiden is never actually IN FOXHOUND, he is lead to believe that he is. But Campbell doesn't even mention that. They speak of Raiden as though he is actually an ex-member of FOXHOUND. On your next play through, listen carefully to this bit. Its so confusing. Plot hole, or Plot hole? |

They must have. In that conversation with Rose, Rose tells Snake that Campbell was Raiden's commanding officer for a while. Then eventually he didn't always come home, and when he did he'd be drunk and full of cuts and bruises. She then says that Campbell tried to control Jack and sort him out, but he never listened to him and he just kept avoiding him. As for Snake saying "Foxhound?", personally i don't remember that, but he did probably say it. And if he did, then as i mentioned earlier, if Campbell was his officer for a while, then Jack probably (even if just for a short while) was in Foxhound. Edited by Nathan_snake, Oct 4 2008, 09:08 PM.

Id hope he was part of foxhound after what he went thru in MGS2, i mean hell if i did that and wasnt inducted into the greatest military group id be fuckin pissed. So its one of those ideas that occured between MGS2 and 4 im thinking. |

ok, if Raiden did'nt meet cambell before after the planter incident, who the hell sent him on the mission, I know it should the The Patriots, but still, on the briefing he must have had some mission leader (cambell or anyone) who talked him through the mission plan, and would it not be wise to have him/her on the codec aswell? |

Yeah, in MGS4 Snake definitely mentions Raiden being in FOXHOUND. I know what you're all saying about Campbell being Raiden's 'officer'. That therefore Raiden must have been in FOXHOUND. BUT REMEMBER. FOXHOUND DISBANDED AFTER SHADOW MOSES. There was never any resurrection of FOXHOUND to any degree (until RAT PATROL used FOXHOUND emblems on their combat vests, if that even counts). Therefore, Raiden couldn't have possibly been in FOXHOUND at ANY stage, and this STILL does not make sense.  Personally, I think that this is just a minor plot hole that cannot be filled. The main subject of this topic has been covered already. This topic is as good as closed.

To fire your response right back at you: HARDLY. Its ONE SENTENCE that just doesn't make sense, and if it really mattered or was key to Raiden's story, I think that somehow it would have been put into more than one sentence. Discuss it all you want by all means, but its hardly likely that you will find someone 'who knows' what they're are talking about with that topic. Its all down to interpretation. Simple as. I was stating that there is no official answer to the questions in this thread. And until somebody goes an asks Mr.Kojima himself about the questions in this topic, I am correct. There has been no official explanation for this 'Was Raiden in FOXHOUND?'. The only place you're likely to find it is on the Metal Gear Encyclopedia on the PS3. And guess what? Raiden's section on there.... DOESN'T MENTION FOXHOUND!

Yes, but just because it isn't there doesn't mean he was / was not ever in Foxhound. It just means that the Database doesn't says it. Besides, i don't believe much that the Database says (about the other extra stuff that was never explained).
