Ok, so I sorted the topics into an alphabetical listing covering every topic in the past year and found no topic for LittleBigPlanet. So, this is the "Official Chat Topic" for all things little and BIG on this planet... this littleBIGPlanet. This might explain to some people why my already low amount of activity around here has dwindled to almost nothing. There has been a beta test for LittleBIGPlanet (henceforth, referred to as "LBP") going on for the last week and, unfortunately, I am not a part of it, as of right now. I have entered into the Gamespot contest for the LBPbeta they ran on Friday and decided not to e-mail codes out for until today (DAMN YOU, GS). I am currently trying to register at Gamepro.com so I can enter into their contest, as well. IGN, 1UP, G4 and some others, I think, are running contests to win a beta code, too. I've been a part of a LBP Fansite for the past year and for the past week, i've had to hear about other people playing this while I wait impatiently for my code to arrive... if it's even coming. So, i'll just get this out of the way right now... do any of you have a code you don't want and if so, would you kindly PM that to me? Now, on to the game... are any of you in the beta and if so, what do you think of it? The basic premise behind LBP is to play levels created by the developers until you unlock the "create" side of the game where you can actually make levels yourself. It has multiplayer for up to 4 people in a level and yes, they can help you create levels, as well. I've seen a lot of levels from developers and the general public alike demonstrated in videos and I have to say, it's going to be 'nucking futs. The extent of your creativity seems to be your only limit. There are a lot of creative games like this coming out and I like it... from Halo 3's Forge to echochrome's level designer to Spore's "spornographic content to games like this; it's a good time to be a creative gamer. LBP drops in U.S. stores on October 21st. Anyway, my PSN ID is Comatoes and if you're as excited about LBP as I am, toss me a FR. |

I'm not super hyped or anything and I haven't participated in the beta. I have only got interested in the game recently because I have seen the vast capabilities of the level designer and I am intrigued to no end at what I have seen. I hope the game doesn't turn out be to be gimmiky which is certainly the way it comes off as but I shall see after I get my hands on the game. I can't put more emphasis on where you said "it's a good time to be a creative gamer" and "The extent of your creativity seems to be your only limit" because this is really going to define the game for each person and also renders critics' scores totally useless. I am personally on the lesser side of creativity, its not really my thing but we'll see how it goes.

I officially hate you, micster... wanna share your PSN ID?! Just kidding, it would negate beta access for both of us, unfortunately... I've heard a lot of good things about Fry narrating it... the first time I was ever exposed to him was in "V for Vendetta" and he is definitely a great actor. I'll just have to see what it's like to hear him in the game, though before I jump on the "I <3 Stephen Fry" bandwagon. Also, here's a funny article from Gamepro.com where they admit the influx of n00bs trying to get the beta from them brought down their servers. Also... Gamespot isn't giving away the codes until tomorrow or even Wednesday... they took entries for it on THURSDAY for crap sakes. Almost a full week of waiting to get a beta code from them? IGN got their codes out the same day they held the contest. @Roy's naughty post: Meet me in the PF. |

I envy those with the beta. Arg. This game looks so amazing. I can't wait another damn month. At least it's 5 days earlier here. My friend told me about this but it didn't sound great. Then i went and watched a few trailers and fuck me sideways it looks great. Another friend asked me about it and i tried explaining it to him, but didn't do it great so i told him to check out some trailers, and he's gonna get it too. It just looks unique. Like pure fun. Dying to get it. I'm a little disappointed about the online 4-player thing not being there from the start, but still at least it should be out in the update soon after LBP is released. I heard they've been working on it since 2 weeks ago. |

Play.Com = Nariko. Buy OPM to get a code for Kratos. I have the Beta, it's alright. I haven't tried creating anything yet which is of course the main part, but I had fun trying out other user levels. Some pretty good efforts already. |

I've been watching the videos on GameTrailers for a while now for this game. The first time I watched one of the vids I had a couple buddies over and they both thought it looked stupid, lol. I think it looks pretty entertaining, but it's hard to say until I try it for myself. I do plan on buying it, though. |

I applied for the X-play beta, did it like 1 minute after they revealed. Hopefully I got it. I also applied to the IGN one, and will apply to the Gamepro one tomorrow, and the 1up tomorrow. I can either get lucky and get more than one, or just one, or unlucky and get none. |

I didn't even know about the Beta when codes got sent out, as I was at uni without internet. I was out one night and phoned one of my clanmates about something I remembered and he told me. Luckily got a code off someone I know online a few days ago. |

Kewl. I got in through 1UP yesterday with the "How many premade levels will the game ship with?" question (it's Over 60) and I have the beta downloading as I type. Of course, i'm at work right now and it's downloading at home... aaaaaaand when I get off work i've got "uni," as you weirdos call it, to go to so I really won't get any serious play time in until Thursday. I can definitely say i'm excited, to say the least. If I come up with anything noteworthy, I might YouTube it so you can see what I made... also so I can remember it when the real game comes out. That way I can recreate it. They aren't saving any of the levels from the beta... or are they? They said they might save some of the best ones but, who knows? *rambles* Edit: Found that article about how the levels from the beta won't work in the final game... http://littlebigfan.blogspot.com/2008/09/littlebigplanet-beta-levels-wont-work.html ...of course, it conflicts with the rumors heard that all the levels from the Parson's project won't have their own planet in the final game.
