Following the previous GENE expansion that entered the line of fire of Metal Gear Online (stray bullets and bugs included...), Konami's now announced another downloadable expansion for their online title. Introducing: MEME. Revealed in this scan of Famitsu's recent issue, the MEME expansion will add three new maps for gamers to wreak havoc in: * Silo Sunset - industrial area reminiscent of MGS: Portable Ops' Silo map * Forest Firefight - forested mountain area with lots of trees and mossy rocks * Winter Warehouse - Santa Claus' workshop in the eyes of terrorists Two new characters will also be introduced into the playable roster: Mei Ling (NO WAI!) and Liquid Ocelot. The expansion is being readied for the show floor at TGS - it's getting a playable demo! Meanwhile, there's no word yet on a release date. Yes! Though it's not Shadow Moses or High Ice remade, I'm just glad the snow stage will utilize the snow camo (which I've been saving my reward points for pants, shirt, and helmet) and the other two sound pretty decent as well. The Silo was my favorite stage in Portable Ops so it'll be fun to see how they uptdated it to MGO. Mei Ling will be like Johnny (no SOP, ridiculous way for "weapons lock" to function), except hopefully nothing comes out of her butt. (unless she was real then....) |

Im only excited for Winter Warehouse & Forest Firefight. As for the characters, it will be just like when Meryl and Johnny were released: I'll think its cool for a day or two, but ultimately realize it's stupid. I'm still interested to see what special things they will be able to do though. |

TOLD YA SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i said in another thread that the new character wouldnt be Raiden and that it would be liquid ocelot and sum punk was like "can you prove it".

Im excited about the new characters, I just hope you can actually play them. I mean, I played as Johnny once deliberatly scoring low, and I have not even played as Meryl. |

Any idea yet when this is coming out? I will buy it the instant it comes to the Konami shop. Maps look nice and it's allways fun to listen to Ocelot's codecs and play with him.

I'm guessing that there'll be another site crash for Konami to deal with the day this is out. I think it's pretty cheap that they released a snow map, but not Shadow Moses. A lot of people said that they would buy this for the Shadow Moses map, but even though it's not in it, those people will stil probably get it anyway, and eventually get the expansion with the Shadow Moses map too. |

I'll still get the expansion eventually (maybe 2 weeks after it's realieased to keep from having it crash on me), even though I am one of the many Shadow Moses map advocates. I'm just glad that there'll be a decent map that will support the use of snow camouflage. |

Finally new maps!! Also Mei ling and Ocelot?! Thats awesome even though I wanted Shadow Moses but whatever I hope they add something to survival or make a new game mode to go along with this expansion. |

I'm a bit disappointed with the forest level, I was really hoping it would be S.East from Subsistence, oh well. Still looks good, I'm curious what Liquid and Mei Ling will be packing. I know Liquid's weapon is the Thor 45, maybe the SAA returns too, who knows? |
