Where's November?

![]() "The most significant feature of the new PSP 3000, officially unveiled at Sony's Leipzig GC press conference on Wednesday, is the improved LCD screen. Sony said that the new machine will pack a display with far more vibrant colour and improved brightness, finally doing away with the annoying glare you get on previous models. But we didn't take its word for it; we put the new and old models side-by-side and took some snaps to show you how much better it is. As well as the nicer screen, the PSP 3000 has a built-in microphone, ideal for use with Skype or Go!Messenger, and the Home button of previous models is now the PS Button, like on PS3. Other than that it's identical to the PSP Slim. It weighs pretty much the same, the face buttons are unchanged and has the same cheap-feeling UMD disc tray." - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=195939 So, what does everyone think. I'll definitely be getting one, mainly because my PSP has recently passed into the afterlife, but I doubt there'll be many out there who'll trade in a current PSP to get one of these really. So yeah, opinions please? |

Yeah my psp passed into the after life too (well at least it's "L" button did), but what pissed me off was that I had the psp-1000 series and they had all these nifty gadgets for the psp-2000 series that were incompatible for the 1000; I felt cheated by sony that all these great ideas proposed for the psp were intended for another series of the psp... Regardless, i might get one so I can play MPO(+) and monster hunter freedom 2 again... This is gonna be one expensive year for me with all the sweet games and hardware that I want to get... *reaches deeper in scholarship account* |

Mine was a 1000 series as well, but to be honest, I didn't mind about the gadgets. It played games and music, which is all I really wanted from it, but it'll be nice to have a mic on the 3000 when I get it. Currently, I have no mics or anything at home, so it'll be good to finally be able to skype and whatnot. |

My 1000 version broke (well the analogue did). I went to get a new one and the 2000 versions costed around £150. I got the 1000 version again at £80, and i don't see that much of a difference. The 3000 version looks good, and the microphone sounds good and useful, but still, i doubt if it will be much of a difference to the older models. |

"The most significant feature of the new PSP 3000, officially unveiled at Sony's Leipzig GC press conference on Wednesday, is the improved LCD screen." Thats more than enough infomation for me. No, I wont be getting one. My PSP is fine and dandy. If my PSP did break, I still wouldn't get one of these. I'd rather go for the Crisis Core special edition PSP. |

Phew... I thought the PSP 3000 was gonna be like the PSP2 or something. I'm just barely getting a PSP myself. This one looks cool and everything, but I definitely don't think it's worth having if you already own a PSP. I won't be wasting my money on it. |

Well, what's a PSP without the X button working? Hm, I might get one, depending on money but I guess that it's basically like any other PSP but with the LCD, and built in microphone addition. So, it's a maybe decision. EDIT: Anyone know what the expected amount of money it is in Pounds(£)? Edited by squallman1, Oct 2 2008, 09:04 PM.

At the Leipzig Games Convention, they said it's supposed to be 199 Euros in a bundle with a game so that's about £157-ish, but knowing the way the shops work, they'll probably round that up £159.99 Edited by G.J.V., Oct 2 2008, 09:56 PM.

A new screen and a mic isn't enough to convince me to buy one. Sticking to my slim. I bet they've made some alterations so downgrading is harder to pull off. Another reason why I won't buy one. |

My opinion; Money grabbing fags. £160 for a lighter screen? Give me a break. I already bought both PSPs, so I will not be buying any future PSPs. Unless, of course it is completely different from the original PSP. Which I doubt. |

kkarbo, we do not allow derogatory terms like "fag" on these forums. Next time you will be warned for using such language so please read the Acceptable Use Policy. back on topic I'm going to have to buy one, my fat psp's analog stick is dead everything else works like brand new except that one part..and the battery sorta broke but that was my fault. I was going to buy the slim but since this is out soon I'll just wait for it, not really bothered much though. |

The visual differences between it's predecessor are only the slightly changed shape/style of the buttons, the minor improvements on the LCD screen and the larger ring around the PSP logo at the back. The only non-visible difference is the microphone. I have the first PSP and I am not willing to give around 150€ more in order to buy this one. For me it's simply throwing my money in the air, it doesn't deserve them. |

My 1000 is looking pretty battered, still works after three years though. The main interest for me is the Mike, but thats it really. |

Nah i think the mics a gimick, i reckon that glare free screen is sweet, great for the car. But otherwise, good news for people who want a psp and havent bought one, but my psp phat still does me fine after years. |

More like great for going outside in general... I couldn't play my PSP outdoors at all because the glare would just get me killed... |

They are supposed to be un hackable, so it might encourage developers to make more and better games for the PSP.....We shall see. |
