So I've a Kojima interview here from my "Playł" magazine and they got some interesting things out of him. - first videogame he played was pong (  )- in his 20s he didn't want to do movies anymore - chose the gaming industry because he had the feeling that they'll be the next big business - his "perfect game" would let the player feel and most of all smell whats going on and he'll continue doing games till it's possible - he thinks that there'll soon be a movie-game medium/genre and so he hopes that "Heavy Rain" will be successful and a first step into this direction - he gets bored quickly - the players that don't want the metal gear saga to come to an end make him sad - snake and metal gear will always have a place in his heart - he can't confirm a mg movie but "theres never smoke without a fire" - he won't be the director - he would only supervise the project - the game creator shouldn't do the movie - story and concept shouldn't be changed - he would rather do a different movie (cheap or pricey (nothing between) production with a mark of the director) sorry if those are old news, just wanted to share them

Is there an online link to this article anywhere? I'd like to see how he precisely worded his responses. I'm liking this thing about how he'll continue making games until the integration of new sensory stimulation is possible. I'd laugh more than anything else, but I'd love to see eight years down the road ANOTHER remake of MGS1 where this line carries a bit more weight: Ocelot: "I love the smell of cordite....you know, that sulfury smell. But to you, it'll be the smell of your own death!" As for us undying fans making him sad for wanting a future to the series, well, too bad, Kojima. This is the price of making a masterpiece with such a strong impact. |

There's no online version of this interview. I could make a photo/scan it but it's completely in german  If you want the translation of one of his answers I could do it as close as possible
