Nowdays there are alot of good games out there but in my opinion none of them even come close to what Metal Gear Solid does! Grand Theft Auto agmes are good but their storylines are rubbish compared to Metal Gear Solid storylines. I can't think of any other games that are anywhere near as good! Can anyone else though? |

I think the things for me that makes the MGS saga the best that I have played to date is: -The story well thought out and emotionally charged. -Its just unattainable enough that retards can't play it.  -New tactical challenges every game making it so you are not just a rehashing the same thing over and over again. And it is done successfully. -Possibly some of the coolest antagonists I have ever come across. -The games usually has the best quality of graphic at that time. |

The MG series is like no other. Its story pushes the boundaries in story telling via video games. It's broken more fourth walls than a demolisher having a field day. Best game(s) ever? I personally prefer the FF series (only just) but MGS is definitely a series everyone should play before they die, its breathtaking.

The best series I've played. Some series start out good and end up in ashes, but the MGS Series has remained the most phenominal game series ever. |

nowadays? I think games were alot better in the past, like, before ps2. anyway, ya rly MGS is teh bestest of the best. by far.  and btw, I dont get why so many people like GTA. its so boring xD |

Lol. Hey if that is your kink then power to you.  I am just under the personal belief that just because two male characters interact with each other does not mean they want to get behind the bush and do the nasty. I think scrubs explains it the best.

For me MGS is the greatest series I have ever played. It beats everything story,gameplay,graphics,music. And for some reason after playing MGS I cant seem to play anything else its like everything else sucks compared to MGS.Its kinda like that episode of south park when cartman saw the buttface people and couldnt laugh anymore because it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. The only other games I can still play that I dont get bored of is Resident Evil only 0,1,2,3,code veronica 4s gameplay sucked. Metal Gear=Awesome=roxors thats that! |

I'm sure most of the active people on the forum think so, unless they are also active on another game forum. Final fantasy7 saga would come in mind when i say the best sagas but nothing does come close to the MGS series, not just the storyline, but gameplay and sheer time, energy and thought but into a game. |

I agree that it is a great series and the best in its class. But in reality there isn't much you can compare it to story wise so it pretty much wins hands down. I prefer the Final Fantasy series overall though, simply stunning. (I'm actually listening to my FF iPod Play list right now) MGS in second for me though. |

for me, nothing else has ever come close to the MGS series at the moment and i doubt it ever will. The storylines are phenomenal, so cleverly done, and to think Kojima never planned to make that many MGS games, so to inter-twine the stoylines was very clever, minus a couple of minor inconsistencies. The main thing for me though is how the MGS games are like movies, with the music, camera angles and general feeling. I'll be brutally honest and might get made fun of here but the ending of Snake Eater was the only time, i've ever felt emotional at a computer game and for me, that sums up just how powerful and downright brilliant the MGS series is. Are MGS games the best GAMES out there? Hell no! They are hardly even better than average. I rather sit and drive my Type-R NSX around Suzuka in Prologue, or impale people with tentacles in The Darkness, or better yet, smash up cyclopses in ZOE2. The MGS saga however is possibly the best package out there. I drive GT5, because it's fun, I love how dynamic the world in The Darkness is, however MGS has such a complete all around package that it's quite mind boggling. Conclusion? There are better games out there, but not many better deals than MGS saga. Regards, Caldera |

Is it the best? Probably not, I'd say Final Fantasy was ten times better in concept and story, only topped by Metal Gear in terms of gameplay, and that's debatable. But is it my favourite? Yes, definitely. |
