Did anyone play the game without killing anyone before facing the sorrow?

What did you think of it?

I actually snuck about most the time even on the first walkthrough......but there were acouple of soliders when I ran out of tranQs.....

All in all I did see afew people on my Sorrow walk, on the first playthrough. It has actually gone down as one of my favourite boss 'fights' in any game. My favourite metal gear fight until then, was Psycho Mantis.

Just a slog down a river, with dead bosses interspersed.

But when you get closer to the end, regardless of the number of fish you've killed/eaten... It's like a fishstick factory exploded upstream and now you gotta make your entrail-y way through the result...
Why yes you are made of EPIC FAIL.

Yeah I thought the fish were kinda goofy lol killing everyone then going to no one is crazy I think, too bad you can't avoid having the bosses in the river.

Obviously you suck at the whole 'no killing' part, or you're a stone cold killer with no remorse :D

A man with a stick...a sharp stick
The first time I killed a fuck load of soldiers and the worst part is at the end of the whole thing I didn't know what to do and just pressed continue...I did it twice, took forever.

I think the first time, I killed maybe one or two soldiers...
Over the course of my entire MGS3 gameplay, I've probably killed about 20, and certainly less than 30 regular soldiers.

But, I also did the Sorrow's river scene a few times, then on about the fourth try I tried using the Revival Pill, just to see if it would work... :D

I always have to kill, but did MGS3 once without killing. Kind of took the fun away.

Plus, after finishing MGS3 so many times now and having already got the Spirit Camo, I just normally drown intentionally in the water, then use the Revival Pill. MUCH quicker.

But yeah, when I did my 'no kill' play through, I walked the whole 'fight' with The Sorrow.
It was over pretty quickly. The only ghosts that appeared were those of the Cobra Unit (even though I beat them non-lethally).

No. You.

I have and it was indeed "a breeze". I was not complaining, though, it was a new way to experience the game. That part is definitely more intense if you kill a reasonable number of people before it, though, in my opinion.

definitely, I actually killed all the regular soldiers by cutting their throats, man is that something, every single dead guy in the river walking around like that "my heads gonna fall off" crazy stuff.

I did the same on my first playthrough. It's part of what has made me wish Kojima would do story centered a horror game with some action.

Yeah, the nightmare in the Groznyj Grad cell was pretty bloody tense as well IMO.

To be honest it scared me a bit first time around. I really wasn't expecting it at all.

It was only later that I discovered that it only appears if you save the game in the cell and reload.

I thought the nightmare game was really fun. It was like a hyper-kinetic Castlevania in a technocratic society or something.

Yeah, I have, at least up until after the "battle" with the Sorrow. After that, it was headshots and throatcuts galore...
