So I stumbled on this awhile ago. So now one lucky person will get to be chosen as Patriot of the week. They'll be able to use the Patriot in any game mode any time. I for one they will be unstoppable if the have unlimited ammo and don't have to reload. So anyway, thoughts/opinions about this? |

If it's random then I'm for it. If it's a reward for the better players then I'm against it because it isn't like they need more help doing well. |

No, its not a reward at all. A certain amount of players are selected at random to wield the Patriot gun for a limited amount of time. I wouldn't be too excited about it guys. Someone in my clan has it this week, and he is disappointed. -The gun cannot be used in Survival or Tournaments. -It can only be used in Drebin games, and costs a lot of points to buy in a round. -The damage it inflicts is like that of any other casual assault rifle. -As many will know from playing MGS3 and MGS4, it also has stupidly crap recoil. So yeah, this new Patriot inclusion pretty much sucks. Edited by Solid Gally, May 29 2009, 06:08 AM.

Lol, I can't believe you still have to buy it, that really is pointless! I guess someone could steal it from your unconcious body too, although it sounds like its not worth the effort. |

It costs 6,000 Drebin Points. I have yet to see anyone use it... I guess my theory was right! They did in fact find a way to fuck up the Patriot as well... |

The thing that sucks is that I'm currently away from MGO for about a month, whilst my PS3 blu-ray drive is repaired by Sony. So even if I am one of the 'lucky Patriot receivers', I'll still miss out on it.  Tactically, I couldn't care less. But it'd still be damn cool to get a nice snapshot of my character wielding a Patriot

Fair enough. Be pretty fun to wield for a little bit, but probably be forgotten about after the first couple of times of using it. Be good if the MGS3 music played when you aim like on MGS4, though probably not, seeing as you can play the music anyway. |

So I guess the Patriot will be used like any other gun. Go out shoot some people and then someone gets lucky and kills you, loosing Drebin Points, and making it unable to use it. Wow, at first I was excited and wanted to be chosen, but now it seems highly overated and just a waste. I wish we didn't have to use Drebin Points for it, you did it again Konami. You royally screwed us over.

Make the patriot more useful(Or info): 1)The damage is the same as the other SMGS; Grade C 2) SMG 3 should solve the recoil 3) Tottaly useful in TSNE (Can it be used by anychance?) 4) Far away shots, use single shot 5)Use it while you can, you only have a week to experience it and thats it, make the most of it people  And how many people get it per week? (Never had it yet :() |

I felt THE JOY when I aimed as it played the Snake Eater bits. When I snuck to my enemies spawn to give them the taste of THE END, but I soon felt THE PAIN as the accuracy betrayed me. THE FEAR of getting killed made me flee my first firefight. I felt THE FURY of a horrible weapon. When I tried it with SMG 3, it didn't increase my accuracy at all. My friend felt THE SORROW of my quest.  |

The only reason I was looking forward to possibly being the "Patriot" at some point was because I thought at first it was an emblem and we'd receive a dope lookin' t-shirt to go along with the gun. As soon as I found out it's not an emblem I lost all interest in this. You have to be pretty good to use the Patriot effectively in MGO and hold on to enough DP to keep using it. |
