Welcome back to another edition of the Metal Gear Solid Forum's Podcast, sorry we're a bit late this week but Null likes to sleep and I like to cry...in other words our timezones sometimes don't match up right :P. This is the first official podcast (we count The Pilot as 0) and hopefully all of you enjoy it just as much as last week's episode. No guests this week as timezones were a problem again but we'll try a lot harder to have someone special on for you guys next time. We still do not have a site for the stream so if one of you can point us to one we'll be very happy guys'es. Sit back, relax whether your at home, bus, or train and enjoy/cry/be angered by Null and I. This podcast is a little on the long side just FYI, thanks once again everyone, hope you guys enjoy it as much as me and Null had making it. Thing you can expect to be discussed. MGSF Podcast

Yeah, I did, but I'm low on time here now, so I haven't listened to the entire thing yet. Gives me something to do when I go to bed tonight, right? Oh, and by the way...my favorite MGS-character?? Uhm, I can't really pick a absolute favorite. Solid Snake - Yeah, he is like..."The star". He has an interesting background; he's a clone of Big Boss, he's calm in almost every situation. He also seems like Maryl said in MGS1: A sad and lonely person. But still he fights for what he believe in, and that something that gives him a little extra credit from me as a character in these games. Raiden - Like you guys said; He's like the new guy, a unexperienced soldier who is thrown out on the battlefield and told "Be Solid Snake!". He has a interesting background as a child-soldier, and being Solidus' adopted son. He has a wife and a child, but still, he fights for what he believes in, like Snake told him to do in MGS2: "Find something to believe in, and find it for yourself, and when you do...pass it on to the future!" A quote that has a great influence on me actually. Well spoken, and wise words. Naked Snake/Big Boss - "The greatest soldier that ever lived". Yeah, like you also said, he's like...Solid Snake, with a more "human personality". The emotions, and personal feelings we see in MGS3, and so on. I like that. A bad-ass soldier makes a greater character if he/she is shown with a little sense of empathy too. Get what I mean? My english ain't all that good :3 But that's what I think. It's revealed that he was one of the founders of The Patriots, and that makes the story around him a lot greater, as The Patriots are like...a big part of everything going on with war and things like that, in the MGS-games (to be honest, to me, The Patriots seems like the MGS-games' twist of the Illuminati theory, but let's get back on topic). Yeah, well...I'll edit this post later today, or tomorrow, and fill it up a little more. Pretty small descriptions there, and for now, only on these three playable characters in the games. I'll throw in some more later  Gotta go now, have fun, MGSF!

Nice feedback Fatpack, thanks for your opinions. I had fun making this one even though me and Sad were both tired as hell for different reasons. |

It was a bad time for the empire. The shogun just stayed inside his castle - and he never came out. People said his brain was infected by devils. My father would come home, he would forget about the killings. He wasn't scared of the shogun, but the shogun was scared of him. Maybe that was the problem. Then, one night..the shogun sent his ninja's to spy on our house. They were suppose to kill my father, but they didn't. That was the night everything changed. I'm the same as Null, having MGS1 for nostalgiac reasons, but I think that MGS3 is the best made game, and has the best constructed story, instead of MGS2. But my favourite protagonist is probably Solid Snake from MGS1 even though he is flawed and seems to have no emotions at times. Sometimes he actually shows some character but remember when he shot Sniper Wolf? No emotion, no hesitation but I guess that's to do with him being the soldier/clone that he is. Still, he's my favourite. It's funny, I put this AHX sig on a day before the podcast came out, and you review it.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with the 'MGS4 hate'. You guys make it sound like it's been happening for several months, but it's only really been happening in recent weeks — before that, it was pretty much just me (alone) preaching to fanboys that it isn't the best thing in the world. If you take a look at some of the recent threads where the 'MGS4 hate' has been brought up, almost none of the new members are conforming to the MGSF hierarchy or whatever. Instead, they just bitch and moan at you because you don't like MGS4 (as if it were a crime). And it's because of idiocy like that which prompted the creation of the Veterans' Society. In addition, just to clarify: those of us that disliked MGS4 didn't say it was a bad game; we just said it was a bad continuation of the story. In any case, the reason why the debate is occurring so much now is because newbies often won't tolerate the thought of MGS4 being dubbed inferior in anybody's opinion, which then leads to conflict. And for that reason, I've gotten into a habbit of just making fun of MGS4 to piss off the fanboys (but you guys should know that I don't actually think it's bad). But hey, if you think MGSF is bad when it comes to MGS4 hate — take a look at TUS (it really has been going on for months over there). Edit: Oh, and Raiden didn't blackout his memories; The Patriots altered them, but Raiden was haunted by nightmares that led him to remember his past.

I don't want to take a look at TUS, haha. Nah, that part of the podcast was more of a joke than anything. I just thought it would be something worth discussing and entertaining for listeners to listen to. I didn't actually think you'd deem it worthy of response to be honest Tam lol. I don't think MGS4 was particularly amazing either, you know that. |

By the way, there are two swamps in Snake Eater — the small one before the factory, and the big one just ahead of the factory.
