I am creating a business around safe drinking which I need some help with, the success of the business falls apon one major aspect. I think back to doing universal indicators in school science, you know ph paper that changes weither a liquid is alcohol or alkali? well, I need to know something.. 1. Can Ph paper be made to a certain level and only change if the chemical balance in a drink is changed using a drug? If you have any more questions please ask.. |

Well, for one, your question is so far off that I'm not even sure where to start. You're first statement is a little vague. You're creating a business around safe drinking, huh? Are you trying to make a business that make drinking safer (as in, an alcoholic beverage with less of the other nasty additives and less of a change of reaching a state of alcohol poisoning), or a business that makes the act of drinking safer (as in, helps to encourage drinkers to do so in a more safe manner)? Secondly, pH papers is meant to see if a substance is an acid or base. Acid is not synonymous with alcohol, nor is alkali synonymous with base. Lastly, the pH paper isn't going to test what chemicals cause the solution (as I expect you'd be testing) to be an acid or base. It's just going to give you a color, which will correlate to a number between 0 or 1 and 14, and that number will tell you if it's an acid or base. |

^ What he said. All using pH paper would do would be to tell you that the pH has changed, but it could have been changed by anything. |
