I know this is a bit of a dumb question, but in another topic, I started thinking it would be interesting to know what people like to hear more as far as Mei Ling's voice goes. Anyone care to comment on this one? He must be crazy to fly a Hind in this kind of weather! |

I liked them both. Mei Ling's appearance changed so much from MGS1 to MGS4, so it made perfect sense that her voice changed too. And after 9 more years (9 years between MGS1 and 4 right?) in America she would have lost her Chinese accent anyways. I vote for MGS1 Mei Ling to be replaced with Jackie Chan. |

i don't know... no offense intended here, but i've known some middle eastern gas station attendants around where i live who have been in this country for years, but still havent lost their undecipherable accent. |

MGS1 I'm particularly fond of Mei Ling's accent, and I was heavily dissapointed to find out she had lost it in TTS. Kinda like most (all) voices in TTS... |

I prefer the MGS1 voice, because she sounds cute with it, a bit of steriotyping going on there, but I don't mind it. |

i wouldnt say its a sterotype... shes asian.. asians have asian accents, unless born in another country i guess. I prefered her mgs1 accent. plus being in america that ectra 9 years doesnt really mean anything, my mums been living hear for 17 years and still has a scottish accent, but anyways mgs1 voice all the way, mei ling sucked in mgs4, yet another character for comic relief which is a shame, she could have been so much more |

MGS1, maybe is nostalgia factor but IDK. TTS it was a cool correction or whatever and makes sense since she a teen in America (they pick up accents really quick) but meh still prefer MGS1's |

My choice was biased. I chose MGS1 Mei because I liked her better than Mei in MGS4. I have never owned, played, or watched anything with Mei Ling in TTS. It is only after I voted that I realized this but whatever. |

Mei Ling was hardly ever a main character. She saved your games on MGS1, and said some silly proverbs. Oh and she nearly cried about the Colonel being arrested towards the end of MGS1. She was barely even a supporting character. In MGS4 she said some silly proverbs (again), contributed to the story more than she ever had done before (giving Snake and Otacon crucial intel on Outer Haven), distracted Liquid when he was about to crush Snake (etc, etc). Mei Ling was pretty irrelevant in MGS1 anyway, so I doubt she could (or should) have been "so much more" in MGS4. Anyways, yeah. I prefer her voice MGS1. Her voice in MGO pisses me right off too, so I'm definitely going with MGS1 Mei Ling voice. |

I grew up with the ps1 one, so I always knew her to have a strong accent But in number 4 she just doesnt seem as distinct and is a bit generic without the accent I prefer the original, same with natasha |

I guess the American accent is more realistic seeing as she's only in her late teens. I prefer the MGS1 accent though. Nostalgia probably. |

I love Mei Ling's voice in the original. The MGS4/TTS isn't bad, but it was the first time I heard Mei Ling and I loved her voice. Very cute and fun. |

Me too..Nastasha's accent is awesome. wish i had an accent like that  Wolf has this purrrrrrr to her voice i think is cool. (i love Olga's russian accent in mgs2 as well) But, anyway..on Mei Ling ...even though i haven't played TTS , just knowing that it sounds more American makes me prefer the original by default. I vote for the original. Not only Mei Ling, but Naomi's English accent, helped in showing that there are a variety of characters in the game, and that they're all different. |
