Hey everybody. If you're reading this, and know the answer, I would dearly appreciate any info. Mucho thanko to anyone that posts any answers. *Ok, so I've been playing Metal Gear regularly, in some way, nearly everyday since MGS came out in the UK. However, I've only been playing MGO for about three weeks. In my first afternoon, I went from Lv1 to Lv3. And since then... nothing. I appreciate there seems to be some confusion over how you go up a level, so I guess my question is, do we have a definitive answer, and if so, what is it? *My main query, however, is this. Two days ago, in a fit of ''want, want, want!'', I bought the GeneMemeScene pack thingy. Great, I've already had a go at creating and hosting my own game, that went well and I had abot ten people who played on it with me for about two hours... sweet, I think, and create another game, with five levels - GG, UU, and some of the new ones (like the big hotel with the MGS pics on the wall... I forget the name for now...) - and no-one joins! At all! I'm running round that hotel on my own for bloddy ages, I tell ya... ,,,now my first thought was, maybe it;s ONLY people who have also bought the GSM pack thingy who can join in... ...but wait, that makes no sense - I've played the snowy level loads, in the last week - BEFORE I bout the GSM pack thingy... So what gives?  Thank you for any help and apologies if these questions are horrifically stupid for me to be asking. |

If you get a + next to your name after a round you are working your way to levelling up, the opposite ofcourse if you get a -. Apparently, 12 +'s level you up, not sure on how true that is though. As for expansion packs, to play on the new maps you need the packs. Which snowy map are you speaking of, Icebound Inferno (Shadow Moses) or Winter Warehouse? |

Thank you! The + idea sounds good, I've had loads and loads of +s and ++s... but I've had a hell of a lot of —s too so I guess that's why I haven't gone up! I will of course keep trying... I agree, having to buy the packs to access the maps does make sense, but I was definitely playing Winter Warehouse on several occasions before I bought the GMS pack... which is what confuses me! PS There's a Shadow Moses map? I've not found that yet, nice! Thank you. |

No, that map isn't in MGO. Just like DLFLux said, you need to get +. Once you get twelve + you get your next level. It's that simple. Of course, if you get - you can get your level down. |

What map? Shadow Moses? If you are speaking of that then yes it is. Icebound Inferno, the area where you fight Crying Wolf in MGS4. If the hotel map you mean, I think he's speaking about Hazard House. |

Thank you. I actually kept track of my + and - scores yesterday, it was comical, each time I made some kills and stayed alive, I'd get a +... and spend the next round getting viciously bummed by some Spaniards. I'll get there eventually! I just wish there were more people who had games using the extra maps, on the EU servers. Edited by The_Reverend, Sep 12 2009, 08:38 PM.

certain levels can be played without the expansion packs if you're doing automatching. winter warehouse and tomb of tubes for example. hazard house and icebound inferno cannot be played without the expansion packs. |

Yeah i think you can play Tomb of Tubes (HATE THAT MAP), Winter Warehouse, Forest Firefight and I think Virtouis Vista. I havent gone on solidus in a while. Been in OTACON and SNAKE alot |

i guess so. it only works in automatching, so i guess they want you to do that too for some reason. so yea in automatching you can play in all the GENE and MEME maps without having the expansion packs. |

Thanks for the advice guys... and yes, I think I meant Hazard House. Still wish there were more people in the EU with the packs... who don't mind a Lv3 joining in. Ah, we'll get there in the end! |
